Had a drive around Swindon yesterday where I grew up and worked in my early years. I may only be 55 but it does rather amaze me the number of public funding structures that I worked on in my early years that have been demolished and redeveloped. Car parks and fire station being the 2 yesterday. Yet the privately built car showrooms and warehouses seem to be easily adapted into its new use rather than putting the whole thing on the floor. Just remember public investment is not necessarily money well spent!!
