What happens if your other kit worth 10k is not there when the valuer visits and your not claiming for that? Magically 100% cover?
You've got to think before you speak a lot of the time with things like this
Probably do virtual covid visits nowadays anyway like property valuations desktop based

My personal advice, don't bother.

You will pay them more in 5 years than they will pay out.

This is true...public liability is one thing I guess but everything else ...seems the modern way to insure even your bollocks but when you take a step back and look what you've ever been paid out...I know one family business that hardly insures anything more than they need to...but put what they would pay in insurance into a separate account/investment ....utterly rolling in it now.

I go in like then then roll and close z4:1 for anything really heavy seems to lift more then with 4:1 shut.

Afternoon people.

So the Pro12 was delivered Thursday evening and I've just run into my first problem.... I think I've flattened the battery.

It turned up at dusk and I assume I've switched something on by accident when locating the lights... now it won't start. The dash lights up, but after leaving it on preheat for 15seconds - doesn't turn over. It started just fine in JB yard, and started first time for the haulier when unloading.

Where is the battery? I don't recall seeing it when I was looking at the engine at the viewing, which was (with her running) and with the front bucket/boom up so I had full access to the bay. Now with the boom down, I'm struggling to see how to access.

Help!!

Can you see the alternator /starter you can attach a jump lead to the big red lead on either of those and a clean piece of chassis for ground

JB more often than not fits a new battery to a lot of stuff he sells, if it looks vaguely in need of one

I’d say hydraulic or transmission oil temp. If you ve just started having a play with it it’s likely a sensor issue as it wouldn’t of got up to heat yet .

Why would the hydraulic oil temperature light be on... the machine had only been ticking over, I'd barely started working the backhoe.... and ping.

ticking over or at 1000 rpm?
the pumps'll still be pushing oil around for an hour with only a limited quantity flowing ... could be low on the levels ... try using it and see if it goes out with the addition of cooler oil from all the cylinders entering the system ?

No... was literally in the yard doing nothing - then came on when I started using the backhoe in the field.

Ticking over whilst sat there, no revs... I may of taken that picture when I was moving.

It may just be a sensor, if you have just bought it then give them a call on Monday and see what they say?

you did slip it into neutral once you'd parked up and using the hoe? it's easy to forget sometimes .... will admit to having done it on occasion ... pick her up and the wheels'll spin

Ah... now this is a distinct possibility.

I will be more mindful tomorrow and keep an eye on the light (and the location of the shuttle lever).

good man for admitting the possibility ... it really is easy to do, especially when shunting/juggling about, getting in spot .... and it's new to you too
and if yer handbrake is crap/don't work, it's dead easy to spin round to drop the legs, with yer foot on the brake and then spin all the way -- forgetting the shuttle

Not on new ones bloody leg sensors let's you know it's got legs down while in drive
