My entry was a long time ago, so not really relevant now, but I started on a farm which also had a couple of small bits of muck shifting kit. Moved round a bit and got a lot of general operating and maintenance experience on equipment in a few different industries, then agency work before regular self-employment with several local companies. In a nutshell.I would prefer to do it this way too, even if I don't get paid for it.
I worked with a builder who does mainly renovations, done some gardening with a shovel too but otherwise, he does not have big enough jobs to have such machines on site. It seems to be a catch-22.
What was your entry into this industry?
Going to disagree with you about large muck shifts, Smiffy. I always found them very entertaining when payday came round.
