@Jimbo69 I don't think there is any on the market. Think all the 4x4 vans are actual fwd with a part time awd system so they also cannot be uprated to tow 3.5t. I asked svtech about the potential of doing it to a man tge and it was a no

@DaveDCB think the transit is listed as the 350hd they didn't sell many according to my local dealer, although they are useless so took that with a pinch of salt. As far as I know there is 2 versions of the 3.5t transit (chassis and panel) they have to be l4 and have the 170ps engine and probably the correct axle, there is a 420 model that can but would need down rating

Careful as you may lose some of the towing weight or train weight when downrating . I did :-(

You sent me down a rabbit hole of googling...
They dont exist...unless mercs weird options list means you can spec a 3.5t tow 4x4 sprinter but I extremely doubt it.

Iveco 5.5t 4wd does look damn handy tho 😆
Apparently it was an option, but 3t no the max.
Those iveco look smart, they do a chassis version as well but I'm sure they are both silly money

Defender 130 will do it for you, get the V8 version 👍
Bit of trivia ...

It looks like land rover are set to break their record for a single vehicle production...so that's over 125k new defenders per annum.

There were 2 million. "Old" defenders ever made . That means their well on their way to quarter of that already in 5 years. 😱😱 Take of that what you may but I say fair play JLR

I reckon give it a few years the "new" defenders will be a serious disco type vehicle with a lot of aftermarket stuff and followers etc...

If you haven't heard one the new V8 even without...a stainless ststem is arguably one of the nicest sounding production cars available now

If going for a pickup what about one of the pickup system backs or an Aussie style canopy/tray. A few round here now and they look really useful. Far better than a genuine tub
Nearly 6k for the smart cab version then nearly 4k on top of you want the top

When they are attached to a 60k truck though it changes things a bit.

There are a couple of trucks floating round locally with a tray and two of these mounted on them. One has the gap between them covered over with a door. Another has it open so you can walk between them and a couple just have them one side.

That would be the plan, if funds allow it. The main gripe with the Hilux is its crap to work out of, a decent back would help. The RSI looks good, not cheap but then a standard canopy isn’t cheap either now.

I know they are ugly but the best canopy I have ever had was a high top truckman. The type that sits 6in higher than the cab. Unfortunately no side doors which would have made it perfect but I could stand on the tow bar lean into it so could reach everything without crawling inside and allowed way better organisation.
Unfortunately it was on a short tub l200 so the rake, bar and post holers could slide in with the broom as where to long but otherwise perfect. There where a lot of tools in there far more than a standard height would carry in an organised way.
