We will be taking a 2020 6MCR skid excavator as a trade in very soon (a few weeks)

The machine is in very good condition and will have around 1100hrs on the clock by the time we take it back. Currently its fitted with an Engcon EC206 and S45 hitch however this will be removed and the original Mecalac Connect hitch fitted.

Machine spec is as follows:
  • Excavator style dipper - Much easier to use than the typical Mecalac dipper setup.
  • 75hp Deutz 2.9TCD Engine
  • 10kph travel speed with independent hydraulic system, allowing seamless tracking and operating of other functions/attachments.
  • Air conditioning
  • 2 auxiliary lines, 1st line 90lpm inc constant flow button, 2nd line 30lpm rotation circuit (Diverted from offset boom)
  • Hammer return line to tank
  • Bio Oil filled system inc mostly full 203L drum.
  • Additional counterweight
  • LED Beacon
  • Mecalac Connect Hitch
  • Skid Bucket (Brand new)
  • 3ft Digging bucket (Brand new)
  • 1ft BMC digging bucket (used)
  • 1500mm BMC grading bucket (used)
I have only been able to get pictures of the machine out on site at present, these will be updated once the machine is back in our yard.

Great machine, what are you replacing it with?

It’s what I do!
Ok I will say I worked on three brand new ones in 2018, generally the repairs were all hydraulic, hose fitting leaks, ram fitting leaks, O ring leaks on pump supply hoses! (120 hrs)

If machine work was my main earner these days I’d be all over this! A natural progression from a standard 6ton machine..

I know nothing about them although they do get some stick over here in France on social media for being a bit fragile.

Different proposition to a standard 6t money wise so what sort of work makes it worth it ?

Hope its got autolube 🙂

Why?

Because it tracks around a bit quicker and you can use it a bit like a compromised skid steer?

Just don’t see the advantage over spending same as 6 ton and skid/tele/avant load carrier having the flexibility of two machines vs 1 expensive halfway machine.

Think they lift well and have good flow/tracking abilities for attachments but after that I was thinking similar and I'm genuinely interested in hearing what what makes them worth it over a 6t with tiltrotator which is in itself a pretty do it all little machine.

Power , flow rate, yes tracking speed helps but it’s more for the pushing power, I like using mine like a mini dozer(rightly or wrongly) and also the ability to track and operate functions without any compromising. I’m not bothered by the skid steer bucket bit to be honest, I’d not bother as it would have a tilty on anyway. Plus it would match my dumper 🤣
