Spent a few days on a little 6MCR a little while ago. There was a large amount of top soil to spread, the area was around 0.9 acres at about 6 inchs deep all over, access was poor so they were bringing it in with 6 cabstar tippers and 2 pickups with tipper trailers. Not bad spot for a job though!

They left it for a few weeks after this and worked it down with a tractor and harrow before seeding, the hope was that it would be grass again before summer, its going to be a close call I think!

Had some soil to move for the same customer, the plan was to loose it in a bund around their property boundary. This was the type of job that a Mecalac really excels at, being able to pick, carry and shape with one machine/bucket and minimal mess. I clocked 11.5kph on GPS tracking back down the the pile, the 6MCR is a proper little rocket!

That's right, I am Grahams business partner in Specialist Plant South West ltd and then drive for the contracting side too. Dave needed an operator for a few days which was why I ended up on his machine, its not so easy to just hire in any operator on for a Mecalac!

Accidentally found myself in a forum inmate’s parish today so thought I’d pop in for a brew and general nosey at new facilities. I guess he must have seen me coming and quickly hidden…

do you know if the rack/spike row on top of the gate is the drive for it or just a welcome mat for uninvited guests ?

Working my way down a list of jobs pricing up for Cheshire East and the satnav took me into bandit-country… I didn’t call as knew that if I did see you I’d end up engrossed in whatever you were building and wouldn’t get much else done today!

I wish it was, he’s got all the toys!
The gate is pretty fierce, I wouldn’t be in a rush to climb over it…

I was told about one tree surgeon over here that charged £10,000 to reduce/ cut down a single tree over several people's gardens. When I enquired about work he told me £10 per hour if I had £1500 worth of tickets, then went on to say there is no money in tree work:rolleyes:
