Gedore, King Dick, Britool all good old skool stuff ... can never have enough spanners / sockets ...
Original old skool Kamasa and original Hilka (when the jap.s made 'em with lifetime warranty) were also good stuff
plus of course a full range of AFS Bahcos :giggle:
Snap On have always been over-rated and vastly overpriced, as were M.A.C. .... nice in the hand but not worth the premium prices IMHDO

another overpriced brand IMO
tbh ive never found the Snap-On spanners to be all that comfortable. Ive not got a full set, just a few I've picked up along the way, but the have such a sharp shape to them that they are just not that comfortable imo. The little 10mm i’ve got feels like it could cut right through your hand when your really reefin on it!
I go for the old Bergen spanners every time, ive had them circa 25 years and they are a fabulous set of spanners. Bought them of a bloke who used to visit in a van every once in a while, wish I’d bought several sets now! No idea where that original Bergen stuff was made, but it was quality, the brand is still about but i think the quality is variable at best….

On a side note, a guy I follow on YouTube, based in the US, was buying tools recently and bought a lot of Williams brand tools, apparently they are an old school brand but now owned and manufactured by Snap-On, some of the stuff he bought was identical to the Snap-On stuff in every way but name, at a third of the cost. no idea if they are available over here though.

used to get those guys around here too ... as said stuff was variable ..... some was very nice ... got quite a lot of their smaller air tools

I've a few Snap On too, picked up here and there .... as you say, not all, are that comfy in the smaller sizes ... got a long 17 combi that is silk .... they do such a selection of ranges/shapes it's pretty much luck of what you choose .... still drastically overpriced though

Google came up with this James
" Both the Bergen and US PRO brand names are owned by the same tool supplier who have taken the decision to focus solely on the US PRO brand. The full Bergen range will still be available but under the US PRO name. "

My point was it ain't that pricey usually

Interesting.
We had the same when I started on the tools.
Bought loads of Bergen and us pro stuff. Some of their stuff was Ruddy good for the money.
Old boss used to say there's the odd thing that's worth having off snapon like feeler guages etc but rest we got Bergen.
I just get teng now if I need odd bits. What is it with 19mm impact sockets...🤷 Always going walking
