Wood will be making a comebackoh yes .....
a 45ft hull used to be going around 6t of materials and was dear enough with those at 500 quid a tonne ....
will still take the same amount of labour as it used to, but that will have gone up too, since IIRC 2008 (last time i built a hull) .. God knows what a new hull costs ATM![]()
Our boat has increased from 70 ish k to 100 plus since covid (67ft) I wondered if it was just people wanted to get away in the uk now I see it’s full on to expensive lots of steel, lots of timber and lots of labour = 3 very expensive things right nowoh yes .....

taking the piss surelyTravis Perkins at it again popped in other day for some ducting, they only had orange 110mm street light duct so grabbed two rolls and rushing didbt query price! Bill today for £350 a roll£700! For 100m of duct ffs
one of the best pieces of steel, dimensionally, i've ever bought, came from Russia .. can't recall the mill name .. had labels on it ... 305 x 305 x 97 ... was absolutely perfect mill tolerances and perfectly square and true ... always remembered it 'cos it was so bang onThwaites put there prices up a considerable amount last week, apparently a lot of their steel was from Ukraine... Gone up over 1k on a 6 tonne dumper alone
We have letter after letter of price increases...
Honestly cant see how it goes on

That's similar to my experience, closed my account as i didn't use it enough because as i told them every time i do you try and rip me off. Shame really as nearest TP branch is within 2 miles of home and any other merchant is at least 20 mile away.never been able to buy feck all from travis ,go in and ask ,they say cant give you much discount as you dont buy much .![]()
This was that tp close by no one else had any duct from my normal lot, already had 2000m 32mm on the trailer so didbt want to go 15 miles to civils yard. Even said to guy in tp best be getting trade price, if they f**k around I’ll order 2 from Cottrill’s and return them to TP lolThat's similar to my experience, closed my account as i didn't use it enough because as i told them every time i do you try and rip me off.
