New 25 litre diesel drums arrived. Labelled up ready for the big changeover on April fools Day
IMG_7238.jpeg

Pergola posts have all rotted and need replacing......
IMG_7298.jpeg

12" x T45 screwed in and pulled out with the Neuson like a rotten tooth :p
To be continued in my spare time.......

Then my mate Harry said, "Can you just break up some old concrete on my driveway?"
IMG_7253.jpeg

So I rocked up for a day's work and he only wanted those 2 bays and footpath done

IMG_7256.jpeg

......and loaded into his mate's Sankey Trailer...
IMG_7257.jpeg

I was done by lunchtime

So over the last year or so, I've spent hundred of pounds on my old Arrowhead S20 with Nigel @Dr pecker :p
Great bit of kit now that it work like new, so decided to give it a paint job....
IMG_7275.jpeg

Always wondered what was inside that yellow case...
IMG_7283.jpeg

All tarted up with JCB Yellow - hope it doesn't all flake off :p

IMG_7287.jpeg

Top hat and hoses replaced with the 'new' point ready for testing....

IMG_7291.jpeg

Perfect - another job jobbed

Now gotta decide whether to keep it or sell it.
Only using it 2 or 3 times a year on paying jobs, so it's not earning it's keep......

Keep it worth every penny when you need it and if it’s not on finance it’s not costing you anything to sit there and look pretty. Invaluable for being able to use it for 5-10 minutes here or there

Think you may well be right. Only this morning I looked at a footings job.
And it looks like the old footings have got to be broken out ;)

how're you going to stop it wobbling once they're all installed Dave .... nice design but too much 'flexibility'? Or are you going to weld them once positioned?
I'd have set the pad 3" lower, let it set, drill fixed and grouted to F/L after ;)

Some of you will remember that SWMBO allowed me to buy an ex Army Gen Set......
IMG_6840.jpeg

Well having got it running and before doing a nice restoration on it Sharon has suggested that I sell it on.....

.........so it's up for sale on eBlag
I even uploaded a crappy video to YouTube
Maybe some of you lot want to grab a new project.....
......perhaps I'll put something in our own classified section.
At least it wasn't pulled out of a hedge :ROFLMAO:

It will be fine - it's only a pergola
BUT each upright is braced with triangular 4x2 near the tops.

Ignore my mates at our summer BBQ - here you can see my carpentry skills in bracing the posts 🤠

The whole thing would stand up n it's own. In fact storm Franklin did it's best with 2 completely rotted out posts, but it did lift up an inch or so :p

Ryan is with us for the 2 weeks that he is on holiday from 6th Form. Have loads of two man jobs lined up for us
Really pleased that I did not sell my Arrowhead S20 - used it extensively on that footings job.....
IMG_7335.jpeg

In the foreground is the test hole to 'good ground' for the Building Inspector.
The new foundations have to go right round the end of the building where we have cleared.
Can you now see the old footings

IMG_7339.jpeg

So popped home and collected the pecker....

IMG_7344.jpeg

Worth it's weight in gold when you need one

So big vote of thanks to @Hg2702 and @6feetdown for telling me to hang on to it.
Now gotta find more jobs where I use it and make loads of dosh :ROFLMAO:

So this last week saw us complete a foundations dig just a mile up the Roa in Wrabness Village.
On the site of the former pub, this extension was going where the old lean-to gents toilets stood.
Obviously bodged up over the years with a range of crappy foundations which were a pain in the arse to deal with :ROFLMAO:

IMG_7333.jpeg

First full - test hole to good ground for the Building Inspector 🧐
Ryan straight in the hole trimming up the formation ground - he's studying Geology at 6th Form
IMG_7343.jpeg

Ryan is my best dumper driver ever - after 2 years of working together on and off, we often don't need to talk.
he puts the dumper spot on and is so careful. Seatbelt on before turning the key AND never in the seat for loading.

IMG_7344.jpeg

The Arrowhead S20 made short work of the oversized and crappy old concrete foundations.
Scratched up my new paintwork

IMG_20220407_091200.jpg

It became what we all call a 'technical dig' on the corner. Restricted access due to fence and post.
This meant that on each bucketful, I had to slew using the offset.
On my Neuson, offset is activated by left button and then foot pedal.
Had to be a bit careful, but we got it all down with no drama 😇

IMG_7345.jpeg

Well pleased with these 600mm foundations into 'good ground' at about 1100mm below finished ground.
Top Con Laser works so well on these sites.
Building Control wants at least 500mm depth of concrete.

Customer - Colin King is a retired brick layer. They bought the old pub about 9 years ago and slowly doing it up.
Colin was very pleased with the progress and the the whole job.
Another good lesson for Ryan in Customer Care 😊

Tidy work. Do you get a grab wagon in to clear away?
