I'm assuming airbag setup as part of a train weight/towing capacity increase would need to be an automated system though, not just a blow them up and let them down as you see fit?
It wouldn't be difficult if you're connecting up to an onboard compressor to run it into a small tank and fit a levelling valve and automate the job.
I thought that but it's just a case of fitting them and setting them above the minimum pressure for the bags.
There is a self levelling system with a pump connected full time but couldn't justify the cost.

To be honest I need to refit them but will have to grind the brackets out slightly as recently got mine back from ford for the chassis treatment, which is a bit thicker than the original paint so need to adjust the brackets or damage the coating

I had an ex-aa t4 transporter that had air assist bags on the rear trailing arms. The gvw/gtw had been increased by sv tech. They were inflated by two Schrader valves next to the towbar.

There's a Rusty t6 ranger group on Facebook with the contact email, contact them on there and get the ball rolling. They re now trying to offer a replacement chassis but apparently it will put a rebuild maker on your v5

Imho opinion shows what a rip-off sv tech upgrades are if it's not an automated system, its not like the vehicle will only ever run fully loaded. I can appreciate @doobin doing his own and if he's happy to adjust pressure to suit load to save a few quid that's his decision but if you're paying good money to a professional company it should be a proper system.

In all fairness I’m talking about a van delivered to the AA 20 years ago, I’m not sure they even bother with the current ones.

In fairness a Transporter from the late 90's should of at least had a computerized digital adjustment system 🤔

Mines is a 2015 does the year make a difference? And is it Ford themselves that redo the chassis?
how long was yours off the road for getting it done?

Tbh I'm talking more about pickup upgrades if that's how they do them still.

Warranty job by ford, they had it for about four weeks at one of there centres, a lot of rusty chassis getting done
Wowsers that looks a proper job . I mean it's kinda not ideal that the chassis comes off but at least they sorting it properly. I had visions of a bloke with a rattle can.

Mine is a 2016, it takes a fair while to get it done as there is a long waiting list.
They replaced front and rear suspension and the leaf springs plus front engine guard, they didn't do the engine sump but have done a few as they go porous
They give you a courtesy vehicle I had a 2.0 wildtrack for the duration

They did that the first time....

Then paint started to come away within a few weeks and they did another spray over.
All they did was rub and spray bits that could be seen, they were doing the strip downs at that point but wouldn't do mine that way. About a year later paint was starting to fail plus all the bits they didn't do were still getting worse,

I’m not on Facebook Brendan do you have any contact details or anything? Or pm me any contact details you have.. had no notion that there was anything that could be done reguarding the rusty chassis.👍

@Big Jordy ,try [email protected]
I emailed them on that about mine, but they said it only applied to 2015 onward as mine was a `13 it would`nt be effected 🙄 Reading this has reminded me to give them some mither.
Beat me to it

It's worth having another crack at it, as the perforation guarantee is something like 10 years
