Reverse Drive Backhoe tilt rotator

Ok, I'm Looking for some input advice here



We are putting Dc2 and wheel control on our cat 420F2 backhoe, which got us thinking about a tilt rotator, double coupler, etc. The main decisions to make are as follows.

Ec Oil coupler or tilt rotator?

Direct mount tilty or double coupler?

Re-Lug existing buckets or new ones?

grade control.. which brand? Lieca Idig or trimble?

Ecoil top hitch for fast removal if breaker needed
A JCB 4cx over here uses dc2 to control rear facing driving
And idig as can be moved easily to different machines if you need unless you already have other brand set up on other machines
Buckets definitely get a proper grading bucket others are down to your preference or cost but Scandinavian buckets are best as geometry's are right for tilty

Mate of mine had new back hoe snd rototilt hated it so much got rototilt to take unit back was far to heavy and cumbersome, 20 year veteran of backhoes as well

Hes got American backhoe so way more stable

Yes i dig does work on an engcon as long as you get the EPS sensor from engcon on the rotate and I dig can supply sensor that can be mounted on tilty to do tilt
They will set I dig with dipper fully in or out as can't do partially in or out on the externder hoe

Took a bit to get used to for me as I've got a tilty on Hitachi 55u and a few JCB 3cx's but adding the 2 together with the added f/n/r facing backwards on that demo plot for 20mins but like everything once your used to it after a while it's second nature

I'd reckon the spoiler on a backhoe would be the dipper length as extra build height of a tilty especially if with a top hitch will make them awkward closer in at ground level or above. Whatever a tilty is fitted to the extra weight is noticeable at reach maybe worse on a backhoe?

tha's a hell of a lump on the back end of that Hidromek, loaded .. can imagine the outer slider set up makes for a heavy back end, extended

I thought the Hidromek, was an inner slider, like a 3cx? unless I`ve mis understood. Still looks heavy with that scandi bucket full

He means the Americans cat and yeah that’s the one that’s been returned not sure if it’s been refunded yet though lol

Looks tidy enough.. but it’s reasonably easy to tip over a 3cx with a full 3ft bucket over the side anyway, without an extra 300kg tilty on the end! Still I’d fill the tyres with water first and see how that helps matters..
