It amazes me they never took on, particularly on Drotts. The Cycle time loading in Blasted or Ripped Material with a Side tip bucket would be far less than a equivalent sized 360'

We can't even see the advantage of toe tip buckets, I think a side tip is a bit beyond most in the industry's thought process

Only side tip buckets I’ve seen fitted to machines are on 2cx/airmasters

I just want to ad another perspective to this video.
You wouldn't believe how hard it is to get good videos of Tiltrotators
I mean a video that really shows that you can't do this job with out a Tiltrotator. A lot of tilty equipped machines do standard work.... just in a more productive wayI'm going to say this is the case in this video, the guys that converted the machine have sent a camera guy out to grab some footage, the customer was on a fairly "standard" job that day and the operator was told to "show it off a little"
There are jobs were reverse drive would be a God send, a flail fitted to this machine for instance doing verges etc. I know I'd want it on a 4CX if i had one.
Like I say, I'll just throw this out there as another perspective

Yeah, nah I don't buy it Adie, sorry pal.
I honestly have never seen a advertiser's demonstration of a tilty and gone.... "Wow". I've been wowed by seeing them in person and I've wowed myself with a tilt hitch or bucket on its own.....
Trouble is the majority of the time Tiltymcadvert is desperate to show maximum spin cycle, reality is those that are interested commercially understand that it's not turning the bucket 90' or 180' that makes the tilty the tool. It's the little movements that count.
The most recent fad is pallet forks, most of which make me cringe on a completely different note (track wear).
There's a s**t ton of basic applications where a tilty looks the bollocks. But no one videos them for some reason.

Same with mini loaders. Every video on youtube, the op looks out of control, lurching about, or barely keeping the back wheels on the ground with the biggest load they can possible handle. But buy one and get it into your daily work schedule, different story.
I'm gutted I haven't got around to fitting the auger to mine. That would have saved one of my blokes a good couple of hours today- as it is, he's got spoons, bar and a mattock. Access is tricky for trailer but you can get a 3.5t truck up the hill, just have to reverse out. The Sherpa would have fit on the truck with teh auger in the bucket and left plenty of room for the gate and posts plus other tools.

I wouldn't want to be using a tracked variant for the same jobs. It's great being able to operate easily on tarmac, especially loading trucks etc.

Everything has its place, if I was to send a 3/4cx to a council or utilities job with a tilt rotator fitted to it, I’d bet 30k they wouldn’t pay a penny more - when requested! Most of them now are only interested in using a 1.5t mini with the power of the backhoe for the heavy breaker to get through the hot roll!

Tbh a decent 1.5t breaker will deal with most hot roll now days
Our LA own nothing atall. Everything is done by subbies on price work with there own machines and I haven't even seen a clancy backhoe for a long time.
They are to big now anyway to set up in 2 way lights with a set of barriers 500mm gap and a run of cones

Trouble with street works is as said, anything bigger than a 3t machine is without doubt actually breaking the street works rules. I know SWW only have access to one 8t excavator in South Devon for emergency works. Everything else is run with mini diggers.

The other advantage of a 1.5 is less chance of ripping through utilities.
All though it is a massive ball ache when it comes to muck away as you either park a grab in the filter lane and block traffic or in the works and load over the cab.
It would be nice to see some 5-6t ducks to do some of the 3cx work rather than struggle with small machines.
