Has anyone had any more recent experience with hi tip tracked mini dumpers? Currently trawling the usual places online trying to find one. Saw a tcp 500 but had a Chinese clone yanmar which put me off.... Also a rough looking htd5 had tempted me but its 2.5 hours away.

Any clues to help me find a good one most welcome! And certainly any clues to help me avoid a lemon 🍋 😀

Not sure what spares are like for the TCP as they stopped making the dumpers a few years ago.
Used kit generally comes with potential issues. All depends on what your budget is

I’ve been thinking about selling this one, just over a year old but doesn’t get used much now. I’d be looking for about £6,800 plus vat.

It will be very ropey for that budget you may get lucky keep trawling newly listed on ebay, if you register for euro auctions and keep a look on there you'll see knackered ones making £4k +

The high tip model has been a good workhorse for us. Must use it once every couple of weeks, not major use but I like it. Good height, good dump angle, good turn of speed and easy to control. Far better than a Hinowa IMHO- that was slow as s**t and wouldn't even reach into a Transit.

The downside is that they are belt/gear driven, so you really have to 'operate' it to get the best out of it. It needed a few mods to get the handles a comfortable height. As will all Lumag stuff, vibration can be an issue. For every day use, I'd probably demo a few and be prepared to spend 8k plus. But for limited use, and at £2700 plus VAT at the time the Lumag was a bargain.

That's the difference between folks like us and your average builder. They only see the cost of the electric barrow- I see the fact that it turns a bloke into a bloke and a half, maybe even two over the course of a day.

Dumpers are like diggers- one will never fit all unfortunately. I like my little high tip Lumag for the money it cost, but if I don't need to high tip but have to load with the micro then the muck truck is often a faster option (faster to load and a quicker turnaround) Plus with turf tyres on garden jobs are quicker without messing around with boards. Muddy extension dig, piling up on the road for the grab- no contest, tracked high tip all the way.

You can still get some parts for the TCP dumpers.
I didn't think much of the JCB.
Slanetrack is good but not cheap.

My current thinking is to steer clear of JCB due to complaints about weak track motors on the older models that have a habit of breaking. Does anyone know what the older cormidi's are like? They look like a good bet to me so far, as do TCP although I hear they are LOUD.

Not sure on price but for similar money bcs two wheel tractors have a wheel barrow attachment and you can of course run power harrow rotovator etc..

For the price things are selling for at the moment I wouldn't buy a used one personally. Anything that's good will be £7000 or more. A new slane is £9500+ I think.
Some of the Italian ones may be less.
