What's everybody using if anything?
Latest purchase (micro digger) literally has nothing so for temporary fix will pull a few fuses
Are datatags also any good?

I do like physical prevention over where is it when it has gone!! Have a look for TLD International track lock.

Hidden switches are good, and cheap, stop people just jumping on with a key and buggering off with it! But ultimately, if they want it, they’ll get it! Just got to make it difficult for them.

Use to just pull the fuseable link on my old one, but there isn't one on this. Might get a isolator key set up or go down the hidden switch route

Chances are sumbuddy on the steal will have it without trying to start and move the machine. Then they sort out the hidden switches at their leeshure. Still better than nothing though.

Seen a hydraulic lockout that was fitted to an old 1.5t machine it kind of worked but you could still track so with enough effort you could still half arse it on to a trailer

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
best hidden switch is a Hella type 16A socket .... looks like an aux power socket .... but without the plug with the link in it ..... no circuit ;):) ... fit it in the dead man circuit feed to the servo solenoid valve ..... no plug-no go ;)(y)hidden, in plain sight :giggle: .... also a good imobiliser in the day, if you're on/off a lot and don't want anyone fannying about ... safely leave it running and inoperable if you take the plug in yer pocket :);)

I have a couple of them on our kit. They are Thatchem approved so get a discount off the insurance. They track pinched stuff outside the UK as well. Once you 'arm' it any movement and they are on the phone to you.

Doesn't need wiring in either as the battery lasts 18 months between charges.

I've used Jcb live link lite on my old machine and had it transferred to the new one however, at £420.00 to swap it from on to the other I thought it was enough money being as both machines were side by side, got the same on the 8018 from new, approx £100.00/yr subscription fee.
Gives me geo fence, start and movement alerts for what I need its good enough, did have and unit off Tracker, s**t system with equally s**t support from Tracker.
