Would be a better qualty than the standard EP2 grease, mainly high temperatures etc. good for pin a bushes as it sticks to the pin better etc

" Proteus Lithium EP Grades 000EP, 00EP, 0EP, 1EP, 2, 2EP, 2M, 3 Operating temperatures vary by type from -30c to + 130c The grades indicated with EP signifies the inclusion of specifically selected extreme pressure additives, and in the case of Proteus 2M the addition of Micronised Molybdenum Disulphide enhances its operational characteristics "

looks like it Dylan, but as Aiden said ... pins/bushes, not bearings races like slew rings ;) certainly worth keeping and using (y)

Is it not ok to use this type of grease in slew rings? I knew it wasn’t suitable for high speed bearings but assumed low speed/heat would be ok. I guess not from what you’re saying though...

think it's more of a 'plain bearing' application MB, requiring a good surface adhesion, rather than multiple moving surfaces, like in a slew ring or bearing race ;)

Bugger! Didn’t know Grease was that specific in its uses! Wish someone would have a word with my bosses as they seem to think Grease works better with a bit of gritt and dirt in it!!!
Never wipe a grease nipple before putting gun on it and don’t worry if a bit of dirt gets in gun whilst filling it.

Could use a manual bucket pump.

When I was a lad that’s how we did all our greasing!
plenty on Fleabay from 70 quid upwards ... slung two in the skip in me yard clear out ... messy bloody things:rolleyes:
