Thanks for all the replies. If anyone sees a fixed boom machine for sale in Scotland or North of England let me know. Also if anyone knows who to try phoning up north I will try see whats about. I'm near Inverness so don't want to be driving to the south of England if I can get something closer. Thanks

Yeah I had JCB for 15 years and laterly had some issues with them that sent me the way of Kubota .... just when I think I might look again I hear things like the cock up Brendan had with his new 8026 🙄 Im not a big Kubota fan (even though i have 3 at the moment) but you just don't seem to hear about people having much aggro from them.
To be fair in the 25 ish hours I've done with it, it has been good it's warm in the cab and the seat don't back quite far enough but the issues are just little things. The burst hose was just unfortunate the hitch is small and the routing not great, although like the other issues PDI should have picked it up.
If the bolt for the dipper to tipping link had been the other way round it might not have went but as it hitting the hitch it was a matter of time as the hose would slide out, which couldn't see as it was on the blind side of the hitch.

Other bits are just stupid little bits...

Belly pan not fitted correctly requiring 2 holes expanding 5mm or so on the plate and two welded nuts tapping which was not missed at the factory but PDI too

Hopefully the hydraulic oil on the trailer was just from where the quick hitch was fitted, but who ever fitted the hitch didn't top the oil up

PDI also missed there being around a third of engine oil on the dipstick and the oil cap is in a stupid location so had to use a small funnel and the cap off a tin of spare, which I also nearly lost the oil cap which fell behind the engine but luckily just reachable

It lost a bolt from boom to dipper ram so added locking nuts

Blade lever top also came off in my hand but put it back on again

Put some more pics up of the hitch hose routing because from the little i can see in that pic it wants taking off and starting again. The longer you wait the harder it will be to get anyone to do something about it. Who fitted hitch?

That sounds pretty appalling to be honest, good thing you checked the engine oil- many would assume it at least came with a full sump- or is that an optional extra? 😂

Tank of diesel was definitely an optional extra 🤣

@GazCro jcb fitted the hitch and hydraquip fitter has tried to do something with pipes, he shortened the original hose that burst and then pulled some slack out of the hoses in the hitch section by moving them up the dipper but he weren't too open to suggestions as was speaking to Ollie and Neil, will take some pics tomorrow if get a chance, they are currently cable tied to the tipping link but with the amount of rotation they bend up on themselves further up. To be fair Ben has been wanting to know if they can do things better so I would imagine if there was a better way to sort they would be up for it. Only have a couple more from when it happened

There's no such thing as a perfect way to run hitch pipes once you get to the end of the dipper but some are better than others, its a place with so much rotation but little room. From how yours look the pipes run down the dipper and straight round to the hitch. Trouble with that is they need to double back on themselves when you fully dump bucket which they don't like to do hence coming out to the side. All my hitches the pipes come down to a block welded on the dipper and then the hitch pipes come out pointing up the dipper and then loop round to go to the hitch. Creates a natural bend in the hoses which allows them to lengthen or shorten as needed when you use the bucket ram.

Thanks. I wondered why the blade is so close to the tracks. Do you find it quite stable?
Very stable. Just added an Engcon with double hitch and only becomes a bit noddy when I have the 4 in 1 bucket off the side.

I do, and that very friend sent me this machine on facebook last night as he was shocked by the price!
Ours is on 600mm steels and is a cracking machine for its age. We have the longer dipper but has plenty enough power. Whilst its done 3 times those hours, he didn't pay anything like that money in 2018 when he bought it.....
They run an Isuzu engine that shares many bits with a shogun engine so parts aren't that hard to come by. The cabs are decent and there's not a lot to go wrong with them really. Good straight up digger.

I've had my case cx80c now for 3 years, not put a spanner to it :love:

Personally, I would never have a fixed boom, the versatility is second to none with a offset
