Hi all

Just purchased a bomag bw 100 2
It doesn't vibrate at all, apparently its a solonoid 🤔 anyone any experience of these things, diagrams and suppliers of parts for them, I've a feeling I've bought an absolute pup.

Not only but also it won't turn off on the key as the stop solonoid wiring is mangled / bodged. I assume it needs a new solonoid if anyone can point me in the right direction

Thanks everyone

Get a good wiring diagram Rich.... My gut feeling would be check the wiring first..... See if it's got hot?
I'm going to take my multi meter and have a poke about over the weekend, I'd like to think it's a switch or connection, but my luck doesn't work like that 🙃

If it's any consolation the stop solonoid not working is a fairly common thing with that age bomag.
Poor thing doesn't stand a chance 🙄

Check your firing first, I have one that had broken wires in the joystick

Dave that would be excellent, where abouts on the roller will this solonoid be? I was told by the lad I bought it was under the seat, all I've found so far is the water tank

It’s what I do!
Kubota engine stop solenoid, take off the red wire put a live feed to it see what happens, vib solenoid I think is front right hand corner of the engine bay when sat on the seat.

Whilst I think about it I have also driven a few of these of similar vintage with vibration wired into various different switches on the dashboard, even the hazard light switch so they must have quite common wiring problems

That's also a big help, if you let me know how much you want and send me some bank details I'll sort it, where in the world are you

It’ll either be the switch in the lever or the solenoid . My 80 plays up the same . One of the guys that works with me got so hacked off with it always sticking he fixed it himself ! I will ask him tomorrow what he did

If it’s the lever switch trace the wires back, put your own switch on the dash and connect it up, ( on/ off)
I've replaced the switch as the old one was clearly put it by a lunatic.

It works now ......but it will vibrate for a second or 2.....stop vibration for a second ......then kick back in for a couple of seconds......so on and so forth

I assume it must now be down to the solenoid

Do you know if I could swap it with the drive solenoid to rule it out 🤔
