@Monkeybusiness Im not sure if this is a compliment or not. 🤣🤣

Well… I did create the post originally 😁 So perhaps I should be on the commission. 🤣

I’ve got a number of attachments on order but have a small wish list on top also which will undoubtedly be purchased too shortly. Just didn’t want to commit at the time. It’s also a case of storing all the attachments

So got the usual; Forks and 4in1 bucket.

I also went for full cab, aircon, road kit and nearly every option extra available. If you’re going to do it, do it properly I thought. 😜😁

Definitely mate!! That’s why I knew straight away to go for the tilt coupler and 4in1, plus a timber grab and levelling beam. Only a few more £ a month but so useful.

So how much? 😂 I toyed with the idea of a cab, but they do a ‘weather cab’ which is basically windscreen, side and rear panels but no door, and this just bolts into the framework. Around a grand so will most likely get this in winter. Air con would be nice but I can’t see myself ever being on it for more than a few minutes. Plus I don’t have anything else with air con so don’t want to spoil myself l 😂

On the options front I went for floating boom valve, that was all I could see myself needing. They threw in the rear side weights. Lots of stuff such as the high flow and electric buttons on the joystick with the socket at the front was standard. What sort of options do avant offer?

Also if they are traditional style forks flipping them upside down is helpful with bags as you can crowd back and the bag doesn't sway
That's exactly what I did lately, it give me enough height to reach the chipper spout to, I filled a few bags when I was waiting for my brother in law to bring the trailer back 😁

Seems like everyone who has posted on this thread ends up buying one. How much is the 760i and what does the I stand for? What attachments did you go for?

The "I" stands for intercooler. For the models that have a turbo in engine.

Until it is fully paid for and I have the keys, I'm going to stay quiet for the time being. But RRP on a base 760i is around £39k.

Avant comes with floating boom valve as standard, or at least it does with the model I chose. I then had a 760 instead of 755, so it is dual speed. I got full DLX cab, Aircon, road traffic kit, ball hitch, trailer plug, rear weights, side weights, opticontrol (extra buttons on joystick for certain attachments), Anti slip valve and air suspension seat.

So just a couple of options. :ROFLMAO::p

bear in mind when doing this guys that the heel hooks are not welded on anywhere near as securely as the top hooks and you're exerting quite a leverage on them that way up (not so much in this case ;) ) ... beware and have a good look at the welding 'fore getting too enthused about what you stick on there

Sounds well kitted out. The MultiOne 8.4SK is on paper a kind of halfway house between the Avant 6 series and the 7 series. You have an extra 100mm of lift height over me which I really think you will be glad of, plus a couple of hundred kilos extra lift capacity. Not to mention the flow rate! My machine is around 26hp, yours is almost double.

They do an 8.5SK with the same Kohler engine as the Avant, and a similar lift capacity due to the extra engine counterweight. However I've been burnt by Kohler parts availability in the past, and didn't fancy the complexity of the emissions systems so stuck with Kubota. Flow rate should be OK for what I want to do, although I'm already thinking about a flail, which the Kohler engine machines should be much more capable with. All in all, I'm very glad I upped my budget to a slightly larger model than I started looking at, and I'm sure you will be too.

I got the rear weights thrown in, and the dealer was also kind enough to chuck in some side weights too. They must make a big difference- I can wheely the front with nothing on, but it's pretty stable for such a small machine when loaded. 2-speed is standard on the 8.4, as is the anti slip valve, joystick button control for attachments and cruise control which is surprisingly useful on rough ground.

On the downside, it's Italian with a lot of electrics and I am jealous of your cab! :) Hopefully I haven't picked too much of an underdog.

What’s the plan with it, use it as a dumper with the engcon 3 ton or use them on specific jobs. Do you have someone who works with you or jumping between £100k of kit? Can you move both together or will it be a two tripper every time?

Whilst that is incredibly cool.
By the time you have those tracks and grader on it must be pushing it to put on a 3.5t trailer
And pushing on the price of a tracked skid steer
And surely a tracked skid steer would have more grunt for leveling.
By putting the tracks on surely you are loosing half the advantages of it??

I looked into skidsteer but not many that can be trailered phoned 2 companies with no reply.
The bucket and forks on another vehicle or back of towing vehicle.
We are usually in 1 place for at least a few days at a time

Surely that would be over with the weight of tracks though
I think there on the limit with wheels

Tracked skid steers are heavy, often underpowered vs the Avant equivalent, and their shorter wheelbase isn't great for this sort of accurate grading people seem to want these days. The Avants have the edge on the towability vs power front, and their longer wheelbase lends itself better to laser grading. To be honest, they are impressive little tools and I haven't heard of anyone yet on here or elsewhere that have regretted buying one.
Rather tempted myself....

You know you need one. Better than a small dumper in a lot of situations and you can do a lot else with them as well.

Nowhere near. My 8.4 can lift 1.2t but weighs just 1.7/1.8t

The 10.9 weighs only 2.2/2.3t

That only leaves 300-400kg for extra track weight and that grader.

I'm not doubting the versatility and power off them atall and completely see the benefits.
It's just that particular setup must be pushing the boundaries of what can be towed so if it ends up on a lorry surely going the whole hog and getting something bigger.

All down to being road towable or not but if it's not then surely it is not competing with the little skid steers that can be towed but the full on yank spec ones. Obviously 6t and over a 100hp will push better than sub 3t and 60ish HP.
And I don't if you have seen the few firms round here running skid steers on horse arena work but they seem to have all gone to level with the two casters out front
Presumably to negate the short wheelbase problem

As said i completely understand how useful they are especially as they can be moved with a lorry. But my point is, surely once you start getting big then other machines will come into play.
