To clean or not to clean - that is the question

Hi All, so my kx71-2 is in need of new hydolic cables - opened up the floor and wowzers-think it's the first time in all its 5000 hours. So is it a brush/trowel and oily rag? Or can I get in there with the jet wash? - obviously there are some electrics I need to watch but everything else should be up to the job?

Steam it out. I can’t stand working on thing like that without cleaning them.

Steam it, there is a solenoid valve to be a bit cautious around.... Just avoid any wiring.

Jetwash won't remove oil, steam will. Hire one if you have to, it'll make the job 10x easier. You can always turn the pressure down around anything delicate too.

Steam will also tend to dry itself out a lot better than just a wash..... Well worth throwing a load of warm water with fairy liquid on half hour or so before.

Steam far better for oily greasy stuff but i tend to cold wash with detergent and then use steam for rinse. If you go straight in with steam you'll bake sh*t on unless its oily stuff.

find it easier to wash of the worst first, then soak in jizer / gunk

All the panels come off, take them all off it will give a lot more space, and will be easier to get all the crap out.

Gunk is a lot cheaper. Hts sell 5 litres for 7 quid or somthing
