If all the parts of mines that were abandoned and not needed to be recorded when the law changed requiring mines to record workings were included it's amazing Redruth, pool and Camborne are still standing

I guess those old guys knew what they were doing. Mostly hard rock I guess so no need for pit props or they would be rotten by now which could be interesting.

They do say Cornwall was a forest before mining

Was once working with a guy from Cornwall Wayne Burns, it was at Ardnamuchan Distillery and there was a sign at the side of the road saying ”you are now at the most westerly point of mainland Britain “ he was adamant it was wrong as it’s lands end . After a bit more research he conceded, He even had to phone home and tell his family what they thought was wrong
