Yep that’s exactly what I do with archived paperwork 😎
Burning barrel and handful at a time. Gotta educate SWMBO not to put whole books or diaries etc on it 🤣
Now got a whole 12 years worth from when I went self employed. Next year I’ll start thinning them out for when I wrap this chapter up 😉
Oh for a small vertical bandsaw to cut the bloody spines off
barrel has gone down a bit today so got a couple more reams input this evening ...
surprising how long it takes to turn to talc, even when regularly stirred. It's going to take a few days to cool down to load out for sure

Found some manuals and stuff I thought I'd mistakenly burnt in '14 at the back of one draw, which was a bonus in two ways .. got back what I thought I'd lost aaaand a bit less to burn :giggle::giggle::cool:

thought this had been lost to posterity

and on the manual front ..... ..... if any of these are of any use to anyone or need info. ... can soon copy/let you have what you need .....
sorry they're on their sides again .... they were the right way up in my folders.
@Regy53 .... Maskinisten has the ability to rotate pix 'live' in the forums ... reckon @Rivmedia could do it for us here if we asked 'em nicely??? :giggle:

I have lots of others of all sorts too if anyone is ever looking .... be surprised what I have buried in me cupboards in the stores box ;)(y)
Sadly I burnt my info. archive in '14 .. 5 x 4 draw file cab.s of spec. sheets/info./catalogues/all sorts, compiled over 30+ years ... grieved me to do it, but as I have said so many times before - just couldn't keep it all :cry:
oh and also found my Tiretrac manuals, I was talking about the other night :giggle:

well the bin was still burning this morning .... good job I'd put the lid on it Sunday night .. was a bit wet yesterday ...... had just started at it again this morning and it absobloodylutely hammered down ... put out what was merrily burning away  .... onthe home stretch by lunchtime :giggle: ... bloody books are a PITA

handy stuff that bale wrap :giggle::giggle: banded the lil' sods on the pallet, so's i can chuck 'em about without 'em parting company with the pallet
made a decent bit of space in the box

now if I can just persuade Pam to part with that bloody cane three piece, I'd have a lot more ..... taking up 90% of two of me roller decks ... could get a fair bit off the floor if I had them freed up :giggle::giggle:

any way ..... mission accomplished and yet another line drawn .... hopefully (and in theory) the last detail to get the i,s dotted and t,s crossed (y)

amazingly had a couple of finds as I was binning/burning it all .... several sheets at a time :(:(

FFS you must be short.😳
used to be 6ft,

P7130616.JPG

but have lost a couple of inches the last few of years .... 'bout 5' 10" now

could do with being a good foot shorter in there  ...... good at limbo-ing though ....:LOL:
the problem with twistlocks is that once you fill the floor, you got all that space above what you've parked on the floor :(... half a dozen bikes a Ransome MG2 and miscellaneous other gear, soon takes up the floor space, but not the volume,:censored:
so another deck at 5ft, in 4ft sections, on rollers, provides twice the floor space for all the smaller stuff ..... :)(y)
can either roll 'em apart to make a gap for access, or roll the decks to the back door and lift 'em out with the forks if they'm weighty .....

the real hassle is if you want summat from the far end and it's too bloody heavy to hand ball down :mad: ... try to keep the lighter stuff at that end ;):giggle:

trying to get a z1000 Kawi back on the centre stand, bent over it, with only 5ft of headroom, this afternoon, just about creased me . .... forgotten how bloody heavy they are ... there's two on the floor in there and another three in bits on the slide decks :giggle::giggle:

Oh and this arrived this afternoon, (y):) just before I had to go get Clara, so that (and the rain) :( put a stop to 'decanting' it out the box and bolting it together for a test drive :cry:

might need to order another ... Reo was fancying it, when he popped by for a cuppa at tea time.
And if it's stopped raining, I'll go see if it'll come out the box without a fight :giggle::giggle:

Pam was out early with the strimmer (she loves playing with that) ... beat the heat - 27 in the shade here this afternoon - and managed to get the head to fly to bits ... God knows how, but that was the first thing on the agenda after brekky .... rebuild/re-assemble a good un out of the spare bits box of several ... job jobbed and she was away again ....
just in time to get out of my hair as the openreach engineer arrived ..... BB being a total PITA again last couple of weeks and especially the last couple of days .... none whatsoever for several hours Tues.

so after he'd established a perfect set up here at the house, he wended his merry way up the pole line, etc., looking for crap joints in the line -- there's a joint at every pole, courtesy of the Giles,s hedge cutters and I'd been up and down the drive with the blower, clearing all the crap, I eventually turned my attentions to ...........

all there and well packed stuck it together and gave it my own PDI and bolt check ... adjusted the throttle pinch so it'd close when asked to -
WP_20210701_13_46_07_Pro.jpg

and checked the belt tension.... plus got a note of the belt numbers for future ref.
WP_20210701_13_53_16_Pro.jpg

stuck 500ml of Rimula in it (book said 600 but'd have had to stand it on end to get any more in  ... few pints of motion lotion, couple of pulls over to prime it all with it turned off and went for it ...... barely turned over once and it was running :cool: ... fair play, what a starter(y):)

left it warm up on a fast idle and then tried it on some planings I'd scuffed up with the jake last week, demo-ing the cross slide for the back end.
went down tidy :giggle: ....... quite a tolerable level of vibes at the handle and dragged itself along quite happily ... I'd say it's damned good VFM
at which point it was Clara collection time and that was the end of the day for much constructive, from there on in :unsure:

I priced a belle up earlier in year and it was 1000 squids for the streetworks one

I got one last year. I did consider @Regy53 forum offer but these were just too cheap. Not the heaviest of duty but seems to do the job. Not sure of compaction force vs other proper makes but just have to go over it thinner layers
