Didn't sound terrible dollar to me although i have no clue. Will prob appreciate
and I had the piss taken out of me for asking £7k for mine -- 18 mths younger .... you should see what some folk're asking for 84s/5s .... and appear to be getting it ..... as I said - if it didn't make it, it'd stay here ... been climbing steadily before all the latest price madness .. guy who bought it was well happy to find such a tidy example

my seven years was up this week - as far as the tax man's concerned - since i wrapped up my final accounts ....... Accountant said hold onto everything for seven years and keep 12 yrs -worth :( ...... invoices in and out o_O:( plus everything else relating to the relevant period.
thought i'd never get the draws emptied ... been at it for eight hours solid ... can't just drop it in in armfuls ... it just won't burn .. half a dozen pages at a time and keep it 'stirred up' ... printed pages bloody stink ... and so do I, like a kipper ... looking forward to a shower in a minute. :giggle::giggle:
last line drawn ;)(y):)

yeh ... been waiting 7 years to get this done .... empty the cab.s and free up some more space in the box ..... I'd already burnt probably 3-4 times as much, back in '13/'14 .... huge quantities of processed tree ... 12 cab.s full plus God knows how many boxes of archived stuff.

sadly LL, it just won't do it .... takes forever in reams .... needs air between it all to combust. :( ... blown incinerator'd be the only way, or shred it first .. and sod that ... too many staples anyway

If only it was that simple, paper just doesn’t burn that easily. The other alternative is a paper shredder, one I have had a duty cycle of about 6 sheets of A4 then it needs to cool down.
yeh the staples're the issue with shredding it and sod paying anyone to do it ... could n't just dump it ... lots of personal tax stuff, etc., in amongst it all for employees .... had to get the torch :(

How long would it last at the bottom of a big hole? Surely would decompose pretty quick? I know a man with a duck

not thought of that as a solution Jim ... if it went in in reams, possibly quite some time, but'd be unreadable very quickly and'd not sink, or float out either (y) .... not worth the effort now, for what's left, but'd've been ideal at the start.:) ..... would've been a fair hole :rolleyes: ............ and then I'd have had a fair pile of spoil to contend with :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

It's supposedly the most carbon neutral way to dispose of wood. Burning releases the co2 whereas it goes back into the ground if you let it rot. I'd never thought of it before but I'm sure some eco savvy business man can sell the idea

you'd want a bloody big piece of ground to make it pay successfully though ... and an electric 20 tonner to bury it good an' deep initially, so's you could keep coming back for a few more layers as the patch filled up ....... but then the leccy has to come from somewhere  plus the haulage, handling, etc., etc. ....... nah burn it :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

They where spreading waste paper out the back of muck spreaders as some eco recycling setup
Until they found it was capping the soil when spread at a rate to make it financially viable, wrecked a lot of farm land that now only grows weeds and the company disappeared

could have gotten one of these and clamped in your lathe for drive power 🤣
UNIT HAS A SHREDDING CHAMBER OF 100x80mm
You'd be a long time shredding anything useful through this.

Yep that’s exactly what I do with archived paperwork 😎
Burning barrel and handful at a time. Gotta educate SWMBO not to put whole books or diaries etc on it 🤣
Now got a whole 12 years worth from when I went self employed. Next year I’ll start thinning them out for when I wrap this chapter up 😉
