So sorry that you have lost Spartacus
I absolutely loved seeing your photos and reading about his companionship with you Graham
We too are cat people. You know that you never own a cat - they own you ;)
IMG_9307.jpeg

This is Willow who owns me. She is now 13 years old and getting slower.
Every morning she follows me around nagging until I sit down.
We then have cuddles for 15-20 mins. The same ritual is repeated in the evenings usually while watching TV :ROFLMAO:

This is Bramble who owns Sharon.
Bramble is a very chatty cat who follows Sharon everywhere.
And usually demands cuddles every time Sharon sits down :ROFLMAO:
Now Bramble often jumps on my digger, dumper or pickup truck when I come home from jobs.
I'll try and get a photo.....

So enough from me Graham. Hope this has cheered you up.
Enjoy the rest of your birthday. No doubt you have some family all around you to make you happy :)

RIP Sparticus. Do you have any others Druid?
Yes Alex ... Squeak, who's half of Sparty's age and rarely makes a sound - hence the name ..........

Mr 16+lbs of moggy -- we'd get out and they'd take possession for the morning :giggle: ...... Sparts was 8-9lbs in his better days

the house is so bloody quiet without the little un about miaow-talking constantly ... believe it or not, but he'd even learnt to mimic hell lo ....... and was he ever loud when he wanted attention

Sounds like it's time for a replacement ;) Get a kitten in there ;)

Squeak turned up on the door step the day I buried one of my eldest, years ago :unsure:o_O

'bout 6 months later I had to bury my next oldest cat ....... (three came home from work in 2010 - all made it to 20 yrs old !! ) ... and the following morning Smedley was sat on the doorstep meowing "feed me feed me" ... and settled down on the settee in the kitchen :)
WP_20160312_16_53_46_Pro.jpg

was a mature fella when he arrived, had him for a few years, but lost him shortly after that pic.... had a bloody tumour growing in the R/H side of his face but kept him loved, fed, happy and comfortable, 'til he wasn't able to be Smedley any longer :(

There is the tale of rainbow bridge, where our pets go when they die, and when it is our turn to cross, they will be there to greet us.

Of course, with cats they'll probably try and trip you up as you cross so you fall off...

There is also this one, entitled a Cat's Last Will & Testament;

Before humans die, they write their last will and testament, giving their home and all they have to those they leave behind.
If, with my paws, I could do the same, this is what I’d ask…
To a poor and lonely stray, I’d give my happy home; my bowl and cozy bed, soft pillow and all my toys; the lap, which I loved so much; the hand that stroked my fur; and the sweet voice that spoke my name.
I’d will to the sad, scared, shelter cat the place I had in my human’s loving heart, of which there seemed no bounds.
So, when I die, please do not say, “I will never have a pet again, for the loss and the pain is more than I can stand.”
Instead, go find an unloved cat, one whose life has held no joy or hope, and give my place to him.
This is the only thing I can give…
The love I left behind.

Jesus Alex .... what you trying to do to me mate :cry: ....... I've done that more than a few times ..... Sparts was the only cat i've ever actively 'sought and acquired' ...... as company/playmate for a stray/semi feral, abandoned, 4 week old ginger kitten, we'd 'adopted' in '04 ... sweet but wild and didn't know how to play gently ... once his eye opened and could see -- (only had one - t'other hadn't formed properly) .... Sparts soon sorted that, when he bit back :giggle: ..... Max soon calmed down and became a lovely cat ...

got up determined to have the day to myself today and sort out JakieB's starting issues ........ No Clara on a Friday and whatever Pam came up with on the wish list was gonna be an emphatic N O today ... sat munching me toast and Simon on the phone - desperate - could he come over for a quick little fab job ... BUGGER!!
so after knocking this out for him to carry an electrical control panel ..
WP_20210611_11_20_04_Pro.jpg

for a new machine at his bro.'s place ....... i got to turn me attention to jake, 'bout eleven-ish
I'd hauled him out from where he'd been sat a while back, for better access ..... bonnet off, inlet manifold, rocker cover and odds an' sods ..... #2 and 3 inlets were exceptionally 'tappety', so worked me way though, opening each inlet and clearing the seats with some carefully chosen picks and a lot of compressed air, til all four were/appeared to be, a lot closer to what i'd expect .... and got a few bits o' crap out with 150psi behind 'em.
re-assembled it all, apart from the bonnet, chucked a battery on him and gave him some heat and a wind ..... and away he went .. was always a good starter and my assumption that i'd got a bit of nutshell stuck in a seat or two knackering compression seemed to be proven ....... ran sweet as 'a nut'  and everything working a treat

buttoned the bonnet down and parked him back in his spot after a couple of hours running, stop/starting, etc.

nice to have him back under his own steam ..... if he's lucky he'll get a pressure wash off tomorrow .... badly in need, after sitting around under the oaks.
could also do with dropping the hitch off, onto the bench and 'tightening' it up a bit ;):giggle:
