Don't complain - suggest what's better
An army surplus bridge would be an easy option. You could even just remove the old slepers and leave the steels in place.

Thought I’d share some progress pics of a river bridge we are having built by a local engineering company. It’s a 60ft single span, 15ft width. Previous one was washed away in last years floods leaving us no access to 77 acres of grass land. :(

aye fine ... it'd only need to be a few inches off the deck for the tele and the 360 could slew for most of it .. sit it and re-position ... bit of care and'd be no prob.s ...... just do it under cover of darkness or a Sunday

nowt on a firm, level surface and you're within a safe working radius .... soon as you hit a bump or a dip .. that changes .. river bed doesn't constitute a firm level surface ... I'd slew, sit it, move and slew again ...
beams look to be 914 x 305 x 224kg/m , so at 18m would be circa 4.03t each .. 2t per machine .. as long as both lifting from similar points and lift is kept level
if the 360 was good for 4t say and he'd leveled the river bed to track on, I'd track it, but difficult to match speeds of two machines .. safer to slew, etc., IMHDO, to match the speed of the tele ... better control

Did you get a bridge fitted?
I've had a customer asking about a bridge in his garden, 9m span with timber sleepers for deck. I thought a nice little foot bridge in garden to which they replied oh I need to get vehicles over it. So I'm thinking the odd car might go over but no apparently has planning for a shed and looking at getting lorries to it
, bit of a game changer. I think they need to rethink it but they insist just a simple burn crossing. What do people use for such a crossing?

In all seriousness as soon as it goes from pedestrian - traffic or becomes about 2 or more meters span it wants to be a engineer job.

I think anything within 8m is notifiable to ea last time I got a slapped wrist working on the 1 mile of the goyt river we own they stated that. But that’s a medium river.so don't dig the bank ... step back in a metre or so, dig a gert hole and fill with conc ... increase the bridge span a metre or so, plus, either side and keep away from the watercourse all together ... may cost a little more, but could save a lot of buggeration

Reminds me...farmer over the back...his old sleeper bridge gave way as he drove over with slurry tanker on..shame I didn't get pics...it's a a fair drop into the brook..
Nearly pulled trac in as well....so the next year he gets brand bridge installed .... beginning of last year...his foundations gave up in the storm..:
