So we too are survivors. Both SWMBO and are in our mid 60s and have had our first jab back in February. Sharon suffered for a day or two but being a man I just shrugged it off "Didn't hurt" :p
We now have those NHS Self Testing Kits

We are not really mixing with he 'great unwashed' in the community, so we decide to do a self test at least once a week.....

.....in fact it was so easy that I manage to do it 'standing on my head' :ROFLMAO:

We both feel that we are doing our bit to project us AND the general community.
Looking forward to restrictions easing but will still be cautious ;)

Got my first today.
So far, my shoulder feels ... mildly bruised, but nothing distracting.
Gave it an hour and went to work.

update:
It didn't last.
12hours after getting the shot I had muscle pains, a mild temp and the shivers followed by a poor nights sleep and felt lousy half of the next day.
It felt like Dengue, but much (much) milder.

Given I've had Dengue, 24 hours seems a lot better than six weeks.

Me and my wife have had both our jabs now our first on 13th Feb I had no side effects at all, wife had sore arm headaches and generally felt rough, our second jabs a week ago both of us fine nothing noticed at all. Unsure if our area will be doing a third jab this autumn/winter for us old codgers or not, we both had the oxford Astra Zeneca our local vaccination centre was at a doctors surgery where many of the local village and towns used as well. Very well organised and quick with lots of volunteers as Marshall’s. I was impressed how quickly it went.

I had my first jab a week ago - they have cornered off part of the store in Boots in Chester. My appointment was at 10.55 and I was running a bit late so went on the motorbike and abandoned it on the pavement outside the back-entrance to save time.
I checked my phone as I joined the queue and it was exactly 10.55 - there were 3 people in front of me. Two ladies checked each person in and took them through to a waiting area, where you were asked a couple more questions (do you identify as a Bangladeshi lesbian traveller etc).
I was then called through to the treatment area, asked a couple more questions (confirmation of DOB, which arm etc), told which vaccine I was having (AZ) and whilst this was happening the lady jabbed me and wished me good day (with a warning to not ride my bike for 15 mins in case of after effects).
From start to finish everyone involved was incredibly professional and pleasant.
I was stood back outside by my bike at 11.03 - it had taken 8 minutes including queuing, and at no point had it felt rushed! Amazingly well organised, I was really impressed with the whole setup (and I absolutely hate needles!)

interesting and very brief comment on the news last night .... we don't get to hear much at all about what's happening over the channel ATM .. but it referred to France's evening/night time curfew being lifted ....... how long has that been in place Kev and what other restrictions have you been under??? @Furniss
France is still not a green or even amber list country as far as foreign jollies are concerned :oops:

We are on a 7pm Curfew till the 19th and were on a 10km travel limit other than for work but think that has been lifted ......It goes out to 9pm curfew on the 19th and bars etc can open up outdoors .... out here in the sticks we are sparsely populated and not very effected, hasnt altered my work apart from initially when the inspectors in our department 56 were told they couldnt visit sites and we were lucky enough to be able to switch our planning around and do some work in dept 22 - because France being France there were different responses to the outbreak in different departments and in 22 they continued to do site visits :rolleyes:(I live on the border between 22 and 56) and our work is fairly evenly split between the two. Think we have been under curfew for about 6 months and same as uk all bars/pubs/restaurant been shut, but honestly havent noticed whats going on 🤷‍♂️ dont watch english tv and very little french tv either so apart from tuning in for Macrons speeches I have to ask people for updates :)
