do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
The smallest engine I have is this
View attachment 21508
ive run a tape measure around both engines and its a bit big (by several inche) plus its over twice the power at 58KW😳
but thinking about it now I have another engine that I forgot about🤔 will have to investigate in the morning
Deutz .....almost the same as in the 'Drema

Don't complain - suggest what's better
If Paul is unwilling to shoehorn a random engine In I feel it's only right he should pass on the torch an let me put a Lister in it 🤣
Only if it is a hand crank starter. Don't want to go to complicated on these things.

I can’t believe you are considering paying for parts to fix something, and aren’t going to shoehorn something the same/better back in that turned up in a load of scrap!
I think I can speak for many members on here when I say it is disappointing and rather deflating to see you approach this issue in such a sensible way Paul. I think you need to reconsider how you tackle this issue, and potentially close this thread if you insist upon following this particular path.
Ok I’ll bow to pier pressure and fit a random engine in it🤔 just to keep my thread alive😂 so you (Rory) can keep your oily mitts off it..............lister for fooks sake😳😂😂

Give Jay Trac or kedgeworth 2000 a call they will be able to source a rebuild kit for it.

Well I had a rummage around and found this one I’ve had for a few years as a replacement for the buggiscopic, it came off a suitcase conveyor from the airport
73ED0EE9-FC91-4469-BC98-3BCD0792A169.jpeg

it’s also what is in my jcb520-40 a 4 cylinder Perkins👍 So had to remove the auto transmission and a few other bits like the old mounts to be left with this after the torque converter had been removed
E66760B4-5289-4AFF-A20E-42EA62B9A911.jpeg

So pulled the pump from the old motor and need to mate the two together
BA7C33CE-3181-41B1-8A44-77030DC15200.jpeg

ive got to make an adaptor out of the drive from the Perkins to the doughnut pump drive
3C5BD6B7-6726-4A83-AC72-CDAEBC1873CC.jpeg

so after a hour on the lathe a bit of careful measurements managed to get the drive mounted on the new engine
0103FF4C-034A-4A35-9102-321B3C2DE9CF.jpeg

not too bad for a mornings work (surprising what you can do without any distractions)😉
got to make an adapter to mate the two together then I can mount the pump on the engine then concentrate on the engine mounts (which are nowhere near where they need to be)
hope your happy now @Monkeybusiness 👍

Well I’ll sell the trailer👍 going to look into the engine problem and make a decision whether I move it on or keep it
Is the trailer a homemade job or a proper thing? Ie something you’d sell me with knowing me... 😬

It’s home grown looks a strong thing but not for you Dave (I do know you) 😂 but a coat of paint would make all the differenc, could send it down to Wales and get V8 paint it for you🤔 he’d like that😂😂

I have got a scrap man down Devon way interested 😉

Had a day on it today managed to make the bell housing adaptor cut out of a piece of 1/4” plate
A7BF7389-0BA6-4863-B8C2-30651B2A5CEE.jpeg

then cut a rough hole in the middle for the drive to poke through while mark and drill the pump side
FEE2591E-3FB0-42E2-ABAE-2602A35F364A.jpeg

Not go a picture but did open the hole out a bit and made it neater
48F3B292-3E5C-4B50-8D5D-87C8FE4CF913.jpeg
had to drill and tap the studs that hold the pump on as it interfered with the original bell housing
did all this work without knowing if it actually fitted (did a few measurements)😉
But
14908EC2-FB88-4BC8-8B52-B25AC70FABE3.jpeg

it does 👍 had to take the inlet and exhaust manifolds off to get it in made a start on the engine mounts as they are both totally incompatible😫 the pump has to fit under the oil tank which has a curved bottom that is snug to say the least😳 and the engine sump is bigger on this one too😩 but at least it’s in👍👍
