There are Food safe greases as well which is a whole different grade again, even the cartridges come sealed and the Grease guns are manufactured in a separate area, grease in itself is a much more complicated and extensive industry nowadays.

How much are cartridges of bio grease and is it as good as lithium? I would be wanting 5 cartridges.
My micro lives indoors so not to worried about it washing out.

There not as cheap as the Lithium but the grease is designed to withstand higher temps and washout etc I would have to check availability of them but apparently this type is stocked at Fuchs -- PLANTOGEL 2 S - 400g Cartridges £6.90 each ex vat

Apologies for the late reply guys, the grease doesn't come in the 500g Reiner cartridges yet, this type of grease will withstand washout more than the normal Lithium complex, it will not fully dissolve/degrade straight away if washed off, from what I have been told the first 50% degrades rapidly then after that takes much longer but is still safe for the environment etc

I found this stuff in the food factory I’ve been working in this week - I would imagine if it safe to use in food production machinery it would have to tick any EA/Natural England etc box.

The problem with environment friendly or food safe products is it normally doesn't work very good as industrial lub, but then if everyone used good lub and oil we wouldn't be very busy

In theory all equivalent Bio/Food safe greases and Oils should be the same if not better in some cases, but I understand what you mean and I think this could be down to the different manufacturers, some will only make the grease etc barely meet the specs required and some will go above and beyond.The problem with environment friendly or food safe products is it normally doesn't work very good as industrial lub, but then if everyone used good lub and oil we wouldn't be very busy
I know the biodegradable greases and oils are growing in popularity and may one day become the norm but the prices tend to steer people away from them at the moment.
