Does anyone know the closest RAL paint code to for a newer JCB, 2016/2017 upwards. I appreciate it won't be a dead match. I've been thinking RAL 1007 perhaps.

Nothing is ever straight forward or easy... So many companies list as Old and New JCB Yellow. But all vary on what they believe these to be.

Old JCB yellow is nowhere near the current colour, don’t ask how I know
I don’t know when they actually change, but you definitely want to be looking for New JCB Yellow.
We use one from Witham Oil & Paints, it’s a very close colour match. However, it does fade over time unfortunately.

I just finally want to smarten up the counterweight on my little 8014, not too worried if the colour is slightly off which its obviously will be even if exactly the same as day one due to sun fading I expect. But having said that I would like to try and find a close match so it doesn't look awful. WHY IS IT NEVER EASY!

the yellow i painted my tipper with last year was the same colour as the 'Drema ..... according to the colour chart

Any easy panels/ pieces you take off and bring to a paint supplier to match and mix? Did that with my old Cat and it worked out well.

Plant paint is a bit of a pain tbh as they don't tend to have a ral code. There will be a ral code which will be close enough but i think its so you have to buy the paint from them. Grieved me to buy paint of taki dealer (i didn't actually ask how much it was) as the no paint code just pi**ed me off. Bil works in a bodyshop and asked one of their suppliers if they could get taki paint. They can and it wasn't dear (and supposedly is from the supplier taki uk use). Either way match was perfect. That was on a new machine mind. If you think its 1007 buy it and try it. Worst case if its miles out you'll have to try something different but its not like paint is mega expensive.

They list VBL5022 as jcb industrial yellow.

Haha, mate if mine is restoring a classic 3cx...long story. But anyway JCB says oh well send the paint...ok should be straight forward. Sends it...he sprays it...wrong colour!! Their fault. Do if they can't get it right little hope fir anyone else.

I had been looking at ArcRite Coroless Rust primer stuff as after some for the car crossmember too. So was going to get it all in one place, but I think you’re all right, get the primer where I want then get the colour locally, just rock up with digger on trailer and they can match it.

Yellow can bad to get a good colour coverage with make sure you use the right colour primer.

Next time I ask for a paint code, please remind me it’s a stupid idea and don’t do it!

In all honesty, I’ve quite enjoyed but repeatedly had to keep telling myself I’m just touching it up it’s not a full car respray. No doubt I will be touching it up again in the near future.
