I need a m8 and m10 tap. What is a good make of tap?
Just bought dormer duo kits this week comes with drill as well.I need a m8 and m10 tap. What is a good make of tap?
Dormer are good, I personally have some Volkel taps that seem good. Way better than the Clarke ones anyhow.I need a m8 and m10 tap. What is a good make of tap?
It worked thomake sure they're HSS .... high carbon are scheiser ..... presto are an equally good make ....... personally would not recommend driving a tap with an impact ..... recipe for disaster
I've always used Rocol ....Putting the tap in a drill-press is the easiest way to get it square - just don't turn it on.
Wind it in as far as you can by hand and you should be able to continue the cut on the same line.
This is the best lube I've found - makes a huge improvement over oil

CRC Trefolex Cutting Paste 500ml
Trefolex Cutting Paste is a green coloured, active cutting compound containing a colloid. It melts slowly as frictional heat is generated. It maintains efficient lubrication throughout operations such as pipe screwing, hack sawing, tapping and reaming. It is suitable for all users of hand tools...crcindustries.com.au
try M20It worked thoM14 takes elbow grease
but yeah not ideal.
depends on whether you're using a spiral machine tap or a hand tap ... spirals're designed to be 'driven'I've been using a battery drill myself. Is a bit scary but makes it easier to get it square.

Just dragging this back to the top- this s**t is incredible. As soon as you add it to the drill tip, the swarf starts spiralling off. It's like night and day. Witchcraft, I tell thee!I've always used Rocol ....
