It`s the same idea as the fuchs reiner system.
The cartridges are 400g rather than fuchs 500g, the main difference is there are plenty of different brands of grease selling their product in lube shuttle compatible tubes, so your not tied to just fuchs.
Cost wise, grease tends to sit slightly more than a standard 400g tube, but less than fuchs on a weight for weight comparison..

TBH they ain't cheap from Alemite ..... but as the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for! " and it's very true of these .. they are the best IMHDO and having used these two for some time now, if I had to replace them, I would pay the asking from Alemite and have the best there is.

Always get a new gun with the cat machines when you buy them, I have the Milwaukee grease gun in the van, but always carry a cat gun for blowing up tracks. Just looked them up on my cat parts account they seem to be cheaper than i remember, think they were over 50 quid last time I looked.

Bit late to the party but I cant see why you guys want to reinvent the wheel when it comes to greasing? Gaz has small nipples that need a special touch, Doobin cant see his nipples anymore, Gecko is buying a 45 gallon drum to bathe his nipples in, and Druid is no doubt fabricating some gold painted one nipple fits all clamp to solve this issue - What's going on guys!

Don't have any of this trouble with the standard JCB gun and whatever grease I can steal out of hire machines! And my JCB is so well designed you can get to all the nipples and they are just the right size thank you. I regularly show them off on Instagram to many hundreds of satisfied followers

See you lot slag them off but buy a JCB and I can guarantee either one of two outcomes. 1. You can grease it no worries even with your fancy G spot toy. Or 2, You wont care enough about it to grease it anyway.
Both of these options save you £200 on fancy battery toys to lube your nipples. I cant see anyone having a problem with that!

That's if you can get grease into a jcb. From my experience there's always at least one pin you can't get grease into

Your presuming that's if there is a nipple fitted
Not even a grease point fitted to the top bush for the boom offset on little ones
Relies on one nipple for both bushes but the grease takes the easiest path leaving the top dry

that's a very good price for that @Mark .... IIRC the Alemite price for the plated one is close to a hundred quid for the same gun ... can get a painted one much cheaper though, around that price

for the lottery winners amongst us ..... or them with more money than sense (and can't be arsed to pump)

I buy JCB guns for replacements when they get broken or stolen. £15 quid each and there normally pretty reliable, not on a par with the cat grease guns though.

I think the Cat guns are Tecalemit. we've been paying 12-15£ for them. Just greased the 963 end to end with the Milwaukee battery gun. After nearly 50 years of greasing I think I've earned the right to be a bit lazy now and again.

They might use two suppliers, Gra. Our newest Cat ones just have Cat but they're identical to the Tecalemit one I've got. Can't see why you're bothered about a bit of rain, I thought you Taffs'd be used to it by now.

To be fair It works really well when a proper valve chest is used that dispenses a fixed amount to each line before moving to the next line
But without this block it's wishful thinking

But if you have one bad pin it can be missed. It's for big gear not mini diggers tbh

Definitely and they still need a diligent operator to look after the machine
But I would rather still rather remote greasing of some form half the time
Sometimes it only needs the manufacturer to add 6 inch of pipework to a few points and you could half the time spent mucking around

You can set it up with a telltale relief, this is where if the grease point doesn't take grease it will relief out of the valve and operator can see the telltale grease and look at the pins and see what's not getting grease. I know they are not as good as someone physically going round each grease point one at a time but does help where lazy ops don't bother greasing anything, it goes down hill quick from there.

If anyone likes the G-Couplers. This is a good deal in my mind if you have Prime. Also didn't know they did spare replacement ends for these.

the couple I've tried have been better performers than the original G couplers, that I also have ....
the ying tongs only use 3 x 120 deg. jaws and seem to grip way better than the G coupler's 4 x 90 deg. jaws .... from experience.

I've also had to have one of the Gs apart to 're-shape' the jaws as they'd bent ..... the centre body took some getting undone
TBH I do not rate the originals any more highly than their ying tong competitors ... and find them easier to use

Fair enough, I have a cheap "ying tong" version as you put it but it only works on one type of nipple.

I had hoped the G.Coupler would work better on more nipples but perhaps I'm wrong.

they each work on the same nipples, but I do find the ying tongs easier to get on / off with their extra 'handle' and tend to use them in preference to the original G,s
