We pay a lot more here than the U.K - I can usually buy in the U.K, transport here , run for 3 years or more and get my money back, prices have come down a lot here in recent years but they are still maybe 20 - 25% higher.
25k might be close to the price of the major brands but what about a major brand with the spec of that sunward - wouldnt that be more like 30k ?
It might appear to be high spec but realistically its got a hyd hitch and an extra aux line and a case drain line. Fair enough that's probably 3k extra with most makes but if you were wanting a machine to put a tilty on i wouldn't pay for extra aux line I'd spend it on control system instead and get an even better setup.

Talking of quality , was with a gardener using a BV27 the other day , he had had it forever and it had been totally abused but refused to die .... ran sweet as a nut ....smooth,quiet and powerful, been going backwards since about 2000 it seems 🤷‍♂️

Whatever the specification, the rest of the machine has metal, bearings, wiring and tracks. Will they be any good in 2/4/6/10 weeks months or years. At some point they will show there weakness. Will the back up be there?
Someone once said to me if you buy a turd it will always be a turd. If you buy quality it will always be quality. When times get tough turds become unsaleable, quality just gets cheaper.

Many years ago I purchased cheap Chinese generators. Perhaps it has tainted my thoughts ! I am not against new machinery coming to the market. In fact something like 30 years ado I purchased a Daewoo DH110 which was one of the first in the UK. Brave at the time but it was there for a purpose. Some people will buy there Sunward and think they done the right think. Others may not. Time will tell what the mainstream thinks. As Clint used to say....”do you fell lucky punk!!l

Ok I'll say it...it's fekkin Chinese !! sorry but let's do our bit and steer clear of Chinese stuff where we can. I hope I'm wrong but I predict a showdown with them at some point and looking at the size of their army it won't be fun.
Sorry but that's my thoughts and government have finally woken up to it as well from what I hear of folk trying to win tenders using Chinese tat. Gets kicked back. 👌👏

We are very careful to buy as little chinese tat as possible as it generally is annoying poor quality that ends up in landfill but im not sure if this falls into the same catagory .... correct me if im wrong ?

You can take a high quality steak, the finest potatoes and whatever else you need, but allow a s**t chef to cook it and it'll be wank whatever beer you select.

Truth is that's the issue with the chink stuff.... A Kawasaki pump is fine and so is a yanmar engine but if it's thrown together badly it'll be crap.

That's before we get into the subject of undersized pumps/drives/engines for weight class etc.

I rated the Sany at Plantworx.... BUT look at the market penetration and dealer backup a few years on.... as for the others... Detank Pfft

Luigong are apparently very good but the reversing camera screen doesn't get netflix like a Komatsu 😂

That is 25k in interest though so it would more likely sit £22-23k plus vat outright purchase

they seem a good tool . Let’s remember when Takeuchi came over people had the same view

Sunward are a huge manufacture worldwide of some very big products , Tom from Sunward UK seems very committed to the cause. The biggest thing is finding a stable dealer network that isn’t reliant on selling sunward excavators.

Lots to consider on such a purchase but I wouldn’t forsee the resale to be that bad as it seems a sound lump.
If the news is heard yesterday is true about exporting used machines from
the uk but not manufactured in the uk or eu , then resale will be hit for any of these Manufactures

The worry of Chinese saying they use this and that brand is trusting the actually do. Have you ever had a Chinese torch? They are usually rated at some massive amount of lumes, but I guess they are Chinese lumes.
No, they are normal lumes.

The problem is, the rest of the world uses lumens!

Not that long ago you could buy a Yanmar 2.5t for 23.5k though.

any exports of used machines not manufactured in the EU or UK will be liable for the full VAT and import duty between the corresponding country and the country of manufacture.
