2013 machine, think I'll stick to the 27 watt lights. I'll still have the 4 on top of the cab which can be replaced with LED's too if need be.

I’d just get a pack of ten and do the lot.

I just buy them in 10s got fed up replacing spot light bulbs so swap onto led once the bulbs gone,as posted the brackets rust and I've found the bolts are an odd size.

..... but the Lumens/candela are 'kin awesome

on the subject of odd bolts ....
that swing I put together had captures for M10 bolts ... in the UK they'm a 17mm AF head.
Bolts in the swing kit were M10 with continental 16mm AF heads ....
guess what didn't happen in their capture holes ..... they weren't and just spun

Seems odd with all the ISO sh1t that Euro M10s are 16mm AF heads, yet nuts are 17mm AF ... have a lot on the 'Drema that're 16/17mm combinations

I asked a guy from Volvo that question once......his answer was (So that you don't need 2 17mm spanners)....... ok I thought.... makes sense

so why are M8s both 13mm AF, M12s both 19mm AF, M6s both 10mm AF, M16s both 24mm AF ..... etc. ?????

Your right Gra, go to the boot shop and all you’ve stated is true, 8mm = 13mm heads ect.

But it’s not always true...

I used to work on a LOT of Peugeot and Citroen cars, I still have a few of my 205s. They were all, what you’d call ‘odd’ sizes.
But it did make sense. An M10 bolt would have a 17mm head, but the Nut would be 16mm. M12 the same, 19mm head and 18mm Nut.
I always assumed it was as Aiden said, so that one ‘set’ of spanner’s would do the job. They must have had good reason?
Incidentally, 205s were the only vehicle I came across that used M7 bolts, they have 11mm heads iirc.

We also run a couple of old Mitsubishi Shoguns. They are Metric, obviously. But M8 have 12mm heads. You won’t find a13mm hex head on them, anywhere, if you do, it’s been substituted at some point in its life.

I will think of other instances I’m sure, but certainly, finding M10 nuts and bolts with 16mm hex’s is not uncommon now.

aye, know what you mean James ...... lot of vehicle manufacturers had their own bolt head sizes .... and some weird ones at that

Yes, the bolt heads on the LEDS are a mill smaller. It's f****ng annoying.

Said to Pam, as we were putting that swing glider together ..... "they've trimmed 20mm off each end of these seat supports to save material " the recessed captures for the rails was 20mm longer than the tubes .... bet it saved a small fortune on half a million sets

Got one fitted yesterday and it seems to be interfering with the immobiliser. Turn the lights on then a few seconds later a fault comes up saying the chip
In the key can’t be found. Turn lights off and fault goes away JCB 3CX with coded key. Any ideas why this would be?

Yeah, some of these "cheaper" LED lights generate noise or interference in the electrical system due to poor electronics powering the LED array. Hence why on most new machines or those using CB's I tend to recommend Nordics or UTV Products as their lights are all properly EMC shielded and don't cause these issues. But they have a price tag to suit! Usually £60-100 per unit. From experience I will add the light output is far superior to the cheaper alternatives due to better quality reflectors and LED chips.

Come to think about it iv cheaper leads on my Wacker Neuson and Hitachi and more expensive on the Doosan. The radio works ok on the Doosan when lit up but have a lot of interference with the others!

I've had lights off Nordic and utv and I've been disappointed in both,they simply aren't worth the extra money,they were pushed hard via tff are you still a mod there?

Yeah I’m still a moderator on there but have no affiliation with either supplier and can only comment on my personal experience, as an agricultural mechanic I get asked all the time about LED alternatives and I’ve tried lights from eBay, Sparex and Britax all of the above have interfered with CB’s and or FM radios causing crackling or noise requiring squelch to suppress. With the vast array of electronics on these modern machines, noise suppressors can be complicated to install ensuring effective operation. Both nordics and the UTV products I have used both do not seem to affect the radio equipment certainly no immobiliser issues to my knowledge? Hence my recommendation, agreed they are expensive and UTV products I suspect are manufactured in China, but then so are Apple products, I’m guessing quality control is maybe more stringent on higher quality products so origin is of little relevance. But I appreciate your comment. I find it hard to justify the price until I want to listen to the radio

I’d be interested to hear what issues you had with the Nordics having only fitted a couple of sets I’m interested to hear user reviews as they are a good lump dearer than most I’ve fitted and I’ve wondered if they are worth it?

I’d try a ferrite choke on the 12v line feeding the lights to stop the noise. Same type that is on laptop chargers.

So finally got mine fitted, replaced the 2 on the dipper as one was buggered and put 2 new ones on top of the jack legs. Make a big difference, should’ve done it ages ago.
