Hopefully my Sparky is coming tomorrow, weather permitting and we'll take a look at the back wiring for anything obvious, Load lamp bulb needs changing as well or unless we find a lose or burnt wire...wouldn't that be nice..haha..
Hope to post some happy news soon or...more info help...Thanks all so far for your helpful advice and suggestions, it's humbling,
G

Hi Folks
Sorry for not updating you with any news but nothing to report until today..Genny Engineer found that the Relay was not holding its energising out of Load mode..but with out any diagrams what wires are causing the issue is not a 5mins job, and jumping 24v across is to much of a financial gamble for me...one thing that stands out though is a blanked off, positive lead and a spare terminal on a black box...is it black box issue or a satey blank off from a live external socket but again to bigger gamble for me.I've sent out a help request to my supplier this afternoon hoping for a positive response.???? If anyone knows someone who knows someone with any diagrams that would be awsome..please take a look and see what you think..

what voltage is the engine electrics? ... VR1 I'd presume to be a voltage regulator .... and that 500A relay is / appears to be 24-ish volts coil. presumably using battery voltage if it is a 24V system ? .... any chance of a full pic of that box of lecktrickery bits chowing the entire contents?

Hi
I hope you don't mind but I've noticed you have good knowledge of machinetools, would you know what a Bridgeport Series 1 or 2 in half tidy nick go for these days as a matter of future interest..cheers G.

Unfortunately that's about as much space I had to get any better pic..I'll post what I have which may not be any use at all, the main leads are to the alternator,,yes using battery voltage and 24v system to the best of my memory 👴

no one minds getting asked Q.s on here @Gary as long as it's not their bank account details :LOL:
Bridgys tend to hold their bucks well .. you want variable head or stepped pulleys? ...
if you opt for variable, the belt is a total bitch to change if needed  ...
the R8 spindle's not the most manly / rigid for anything heavy and there are hundreds of other options out there for turret mills, with MT3, INT30 and INT40 spindles. I spent ages searching for a decent turret myself and eventually bought a nice Ajax with a 40INT spindle (had kept lots of 40INT tooling and more manly than a Bridgy)... it's in me thread - search Ajax ... as for price you could pay anywhere between a grand to three for some thing half tidy ... really nice, even more
again the chap with the Harrison has this ... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LILIAN-X...355177?hash=item5db9371c29:g:vQoAAOSw6qdfprgo
looks to be R8 spindle and has had some use ... but a typical example of the Bridgy copies about, from all over the world ... think Lilians are Spanish, but STBC .. @Quattromike ??? On EDIT .. or could be Korean

This fella will 'have a deal', if you get my meaning ;);) ... has done me alright -- so far ... I'll let you know Tuesday ... but seems decent enough and plenty of com.s

Not overly acquainted with Lilian. But agree with the R8 being a bit light for most machining work. We have a Bridgeport mill but has been sidelined a bit last few years after us getting an FPT 933 mill in the shop. Alot more rigid and no backlash 🤠

Ahh that's not fair..I was just putting it out there for a feel for what could be and you dangle a Single Malt in my face...😃..I haven't even got a covered space for that area yet..I am only going small to medium this time, no production if I can help it..but thank you again for your offer..hopefully if it hasn't gone I can contact you early next year. 👍
