Slew ring removal

I’m removing the upper from the ring, once done the plan is to completely move the upper and undercarriage away from each other and then remove ring from undercarriage with plenty of room. The slew drive problem is acces to get enough leverage. There isn’t much room in there

windy gun and long extension bar ? .. ideally a 3/4" bar so you don't lose the impacts in the spring of a 1/2" extension ... if you have to use a 1/2", pretension it with a stilsons, before pressing the trigger .. two hand-er really for that

Didn’t get much time to get at it today but going to take off the rotary coupler to open up some space as there is a lot of Hoses in there that can free up room. Think I can get a Stilson on the outside. I will also be able to apply heat from underneath, going from the top is too risky with all the pipes. Any brig ideas for get extra leverage where there is no room!

create yourself a shaped spanner or buy one of these

It's a mini digger start taking photos labeling things and taking things off to make access.

A tip I was given is you can mark hydraulic fittings and hoses with dots from a centerpunch to help you get them back in the right places

Yes I decided to count round with black cable ties when I did my rotary joint but with 14 circuits it soon adds up to a lot of cable ties

By way of update, i was able to identify the slew brake hose, temporaily connected to a porta pack and rotate the machine. bolt out. Wish I was the brains behind this but sadly not, a friend in a local garage advised. Just thought I would share. Thanks for the help

had wondered if it could be achieved with a hand pump, but didn't know if it was viable

On item 3 the motor, there are two brake valves, it’s not a good drawing but the block to the front of it would be where they would be, remove them or loosen them, push the bucket or arm which ever way you need to, oil will come out of the motor as you turn it.

If you use any cable ties all black ones you only need one on each hose and one on each fitting, if you look carefully on the cable ties they have modded numbers, dig out 8 pairs first before you start the rotary joint.
