order another phone line.

If there is no spare capacity they have to run a new one from the box. They can only charge the normal connection fee irrespective of distance. Once its connected get the internet on it on a 1 month contract and see if its better.

May take couple of lines but once you got a good one cancel all the rest.

They will hate you forever as not many know the trick and it costs them ££££, worked for farmer friend in Broadway.

Great idea....but it has a flaw. They only have to provide one line to a dwelling. If it requires substantial work to put new cable into an existing supply it is charged. We was asked to find £30k for a second line. Fortunately when the fibre came down the road our internet prayers where answered!!

did BT give you the 4G dongle Mark ?? .......
I swapped from BT to SSE a while back ... best thing I could've done .... UK call centre, dedicated a/c manager (who is / has been ****ing brilliant, the last couple of months) ... half the price BT was costing ... and the best bit is -- no waiting ... SSE and their like,. who use BT's cables get priority service over BT's own customers (from the horses mouth - every engineer who comes here confirms it)
day, two max, instead of two weeks waiting with BT (unless you have a biz a/c ... then it's 24 hrs max.)
this was 2 mins ago ..... ****ing BT strikes again

Yes BT gave us the 4g stick and it’s FOC till they can fix the problem, we have 2 phone lines for the business and a third that the broadband runs on they thought this might help with the speed although it’s done nothing. They were up looking for rain interference as well at ours, apparently my security camera and light on there pole was the problem. Removed all of that and it was no better.

oh they'd hate me forever for sure .... we are on the last working pair ATM, on a moled line about 1/2 a mile long, from the pole, roadside .... they're gonna have to sort it when that pair die ...... have considered banging two phases up it to cook it, but'd be without net for a long time then. (and probably kill anything connected - getting caught would be an expensive outcome):(

situation normal then :mad: ........ pretty poor show really, in this day and age ... can send people to the moon, satellites to distant planets, but can't sort a decent network for land based comm.s
they make inordinate profits every year ... need to buy some new cable out of some of it .... would still have silly number profits and might even see some benefits, instead of ppl leaving them in droves, 'cos independents get engineer priority over their own customers
I can't fault the lengths SSE have gone to, giving them constant sh1t over the problems

I don’t know if the link will work but is this too much @V8Druid
was looking at it last night, funnily enough ... and it's too long :( (and way too dear for my budget) Only need a 40" bed TBH and'll be a decent size lump at circa 8ft x 4ft footprint .... Found a few ex-college/uni machines lately all long bed-ed :(
thanks for the thought though ... a 40" Mastiff would be my ideal ... or a 40" x 17" Harrison or an M500 Harrison ... there's also Wilson and Swift do similar size machines but don't see many .... DS&G 18 or 21'd be real nice but short beds're like hen's teeth and they weigh well over 4 ton
Mastiff or M500's the boys ideally

grab 4 pallets of stone off the drive, side on and lift 'em back up onto me patch ... saved a lot of to-ing and fro-ing and left it on last night ...
WP_20201113_13_04_43_Pro.jpg

got a bit of trimming to do with the grading bucket ...

Reo finished off the small return at the garden end of the wall yesterday

and we bedded the flags on across the front of the deck and the return, this morning .... dunno WTF happened to the pix though ??:confused:o_O

currently trying to type with a highly intelligent, fast moving, night vision equipped, furry quadruped, stretched out across me desk :ROFLMAO:

seems to have taken a liking to this spot ? spends most evenings here, tucked against my right arm ...... presumably trying to work out why the mouse doesn't squeak, when he paws it :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

although the sheet's been on and off throughout the day ... blustery showers was how they described it ... bloody wet on and off, was a better descriptor

these two have had the best place to be most of the day
