Nought like a nice accurate prediction.

I reckon there's a 20-80% chance of rain Tommorow

But 600 more people died today than yesterday
Very well said Graham

Tbh even then I don't think 20% is actually enough
For the vast majority by the time you take into account the cost of commuting child care/dog walkers
Daily Costa coffee lunch time meal deal
Sitting at home for 20%less actually means they are actually better off
It is starting to seem that alot of this country are workshy and this is becoming a gravy train for every one to jump on
Coupled with the drivel the media are spouting the whole situation is a joke

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
Overwhelmed?
October ICU bed occupancy 82%,last four years at this time of year 80-82% no point just firing doom n gloom out when there's easily verifiable statistics,we get your point but at least have something more tangible to back it up
but.... that'd be without factoring in all the 'covid' cases that're currently being ID-ed and those forecast by increasing infection rates doubling and more, week on week

Yeah September showed an increase in deaths over five year average, non covid related deaths were also up against five year average,so are these deaths directly related to covid,or as a result of 'protecting the nhs',by preventing people from being able to access it?
Deaths at home were above average, deaths in care homes below average

Based on projections of R being between 1.2 and 1.5 when it's already at 1.2 and clearly trending down on the graph you've just shown 😠😠

Guys, its simple. Its a punishment lockdown. Some areas are already worse than the 1st wave, whilst others are barely reading on the graph. They tried the local tier 3 restrictions, but they simply didnt go far enough. Too many exemptions and then the mayors of the cities started arguing what they would get in return. This undermined the whole process and now he has to play hard ball and shut everyone away again. Whats the support package for business this time? Another 10K? Another BBL? Furlough has been confirmed but at 60% not the original 80%?
This is an unfortunate f**k you to the population who by and large wernt paying attention to the restrictions anyway. So give us all detention for now and then make no mistake about it - the future local restrictions he talks about will be harder.
This isnt going to be fun and I have no idea what the right answer is but people need to start taking this seriously.

Furlough at 80% will now make him unelectable up north after only giving the tier 3 areas 67%.
Whole thing is a mess. It did cross my mind this morning that the start time fiasco was a show to keep people in the house rather than going out trick or treat. Restrictions start 5th November. No get together for bonfire and fireworks. Managed to stop those parties without saying a week ago that 5th November is cancelled.

I wouldn't worry about missing bonfire night the way the economy is gonna end up we'll all be sitting round a brazier to keep warm before long.

It’s not a particularly strong lockdown though - schools are open, businesses are largely open (those who can work from home already know the drill and the systems are proven). It’s another massive disaster for the hospitality and events industries but the majority of everything else will carry on as it has for the rest of the year surely?
There will have been a lot of people made redundant yesterday as the first furlough scheme came to an end who may have been kept on for another month had the furlough extension been announced earlier, but that was probably part of the gov game-plan I’d imagine. The reality is that people still on furlough from March would probably never be going back to their roles anyway as the businesses would have adapted to operate without them by now.

Exactly....the march lockdown and subsequent furlough was a chance in a lifetime for most business owners to reassess their businesses and figure out what and who they really needed. Best oportunity to cull the idiots and slackers ever with zero comebacks. Sorry if this offends any corbinistas but it's a fact . Spoken to loads of business owners and all same the same thing.
Blessing in disguise ...anyone in a business still on furlough (except events etc obvs) now is in cuckoo land.
Hopefully for all us lot in construction related stuff it's crack on business as usual with less traffic and mithererers.😁 Just trying to be positive as someone upstairs is emptying tanker loads of water directly over our house...well sounds like that.🙄

That has to be a hoax surely?
It’d prove that the virus was present in a particular group - closed environments such as prisons or care-homes for example. More detailed testing could follow if an outbreak was detected. Seems ridiculous though to be fair!

let's hope it's right, but the figures are usually two weeks behind and the estimates are always wildly inaccurate :(
Exactly wildly inaccurate like whitty n valance gloom n doom no reason to be shutting down places that have gone to great lengths to be covid secure, while rest of us are still working,I'll take the chance,n before any one says that puts NHS or whatever at risk, everyone stop drinking, smoking, driving eating unhealthily, just at as big a risk of 'overwhrlming' NHS as any other winter

I have to agree to an extent David .... but you, as you've said previously, are sensible about the way you conduct your self ... stay in the cab, avoid the bate cabin, etc., etc.. Sadly you're in a minority, in some/many areas, of acting in a totally responsible manner. If EVERYONE were as diligent as you profess then, as you say, there'd not be the need (y)

guys, in Italy I think we will return to closure, in Piedmont and Lombardy partially in Campania, total closure is being evaluated. closed restaurants, gyms, theaters, cinemas, bars, meeting places, shopping centers closed on Saturday and Sunday. I believe there will soon be a closure of everything, it will be the economic end, we will break the bank, hope that I am wrong, I do not want to be the bird of bad omen, I do not want to be the cassandra, with prophecies, omens, premonitions and bad luck, we hope that we get out of it, it's worse than a sneaky war, I hope the situation is better in your home area. regards
