Leave pubs open for example, if you don't think it's safe to go in don't go in. You're never gonna get people to follow it all we're a largely selfish breed humans.

agree Gaz ..... but sadly there are a lot more 'selfish t**ts than there are sensible folk ...... the ONLY reason for lock downs is to prevent the health service from being overwhelmed and melting down ... at which point society at large will follow ....... we're stuck with this for the foreseeable .. be sensible - steer clear of any issues/risks as much as you can and let the droids kill themselves off ..... the problem is the collateral damage that they cause

NHS is always on edge of breakdown,however much money put in is swallowed up,20+ trust CEOs on more than £200k year,research on marginal procedures that keep people alive,but with no quality of life,current situation to save NHS is.....prevent people from being able to use it?
Age of people dying is above the average age of mortality so yeah weeding out some of the weak,that's natural?
Droids wtf rioting,martial law,if you want to lock yourself away,do it,still gonna die sometime anyways but even IF the second or third or fourth wave is worse than first with a 99+% survivability rate,more folk gonna scare themselves to death,or how about doing something bout more frequent causes of death on list,stop people smoking,drink,over eating,driving cars?
Oh wait can tax them,guess if you could tax covid be no probs?

It was inevitable we would lock down again once other countries started. Politicians have have in general lost any backbone they might have had and gone for the easy option. If most other European countries are locking down and we do and this is seen to be the wrong choice with hindsight they will get "herd immunity" because everyone else made the same mistake. If on the other hand Boris maned up tried something else and that was wrong he would have to accept responsibility and even though politicians are desperate for power few are big enough to accept blame for their mistakes but are all too quick to claim the successes as theirs whether they were or not.

At the least it would save millions and after all we are "all in this together". October ICU bed occupancy 82%,last four years at this time of year 80-82% no point just firing doom n gloom out when there's easily verifiable statistics,we get your point but at least have something more tangible to back it up

If public sector wages were cut by 20% when sent home ,as the private sector was, I'm sure there would be more appitite for trying harder to sort this out. At the least it would save millions and after all we are "all in this together". I'm sure the education sector wouldn't be so keen to destroy children's one chance at education if it hit them in the pocket.
