they are used on the railways and motorways a lot to ancor gantries and signs. Can also be used for underpinning.

We are using them on an upcoming build next to TPO trees as these are 'root friendly', the engineer gives you a torque setting and you keep adding extensions until you the auger head reaches the number. They are expensive but no conc and can do yourself so its swings and roundabouts.

It is a new build 2 bed house. Site is only 4m wide and has presented quite a few challenges! Looking forward to getting the ground beams completed so I can get my digger back home!

Yes mate, We managed to trace it to summerston, police got it and took it to 911 recovery yard for forensics, now in the hands of the insurance but they did say only minor cosmetics so hopefully get it back in a few weeks.
If I didn’t have bad luck I wouldn’t have any luck at the moment
Least you got it back mate, did they catch the buggers that done it as well?

Another new arival into the yard this afternoon, Hydrema 922f, small truck ideal for building sites and poor ground conditions. Comes with 800mm wide low ground pressure tyres, auto lube, back door, hi viz handrails and green seat belt light. Big market up here for them house builders love them. Had customers asking us to buy some for the past two years so took the leap of faith and got two.

I haven’t used the 922, but have used the 10t and they are the business. Keep going whatever the weather with a full load. If the haul road is good they have a fair turn of speed as well. I’m not surprised you have been asked for them. Give it a bad winter and they will be out all the time. Fair play though, a big investment I would guess.

Been in cummins factory this week. Apparently knock out 16 engines a day, all worth a few bob too. Not a spectacular photo.

Just knocked up a clevis and pin, and found a smaller ram with longer pipes to mount the grab to the E10. Geometry was easy to get right being that it's on a Wedgelock too. Pleasantly surprised how well it handles it- picks up three oak sleepers no bother. Very accurate and 'throws' stuff well. Tested it picking up and re-stacking a pile of straining posts in the yard. Will come in handy being about to run the grab on the micro for sure- lots of labour saving potential. For instance, on back garden tree take downs it can load 3ft diameter rounds onto the flatbed of the MuckTruck, and then rehandle them on the the tipper truck on the driveway. Clear up becomes a single man job.

Incidentally, the steel for the Bobcat boom is 6mm, compared with 3mm for the Hyundai! That's more like it. Although to be fair the gussets are more a aprt of the boom here, with it being so small- there's also plenty of metal in the Hyundai gussets.

Next job is to weld bosses rather than a fixed pin to the tilt hitch so that I can put it on the micro in place of the quick hitch.

Looks a neat job.
Your yard looks exceptionally organised, all those hand tools hanging up, wheelbarrows neatly stacked. I'm impressed.

Just knocked up a pair of bushes. Would like a bigger lathe but a mag drill cutter is pretty speedy to be fair. Accurate too. Chinky bandsaw was actually cutting fairly square for once which was nice. Now gotta cut out the welded pin and a gap for the bushes, then weld them in square.

Might have a look and see if I can squeeze a third hole in there at 140mm for direct mounting to the Hyundai. To be fair, she doesn't struggle with it on the quick hitch even in fairly tough digging, and the geometry is bob on where that pin is welded. So the micro (at 120mm centres, same as the underside of the Hyundai Q/H) will have to do with the same geometry. Not even going to mock it up first, it's a tool for the Q/H on the Hyundai mostly.
