Yea it was am ending! I had a look last night and ended up buying a torque multiplier****ing ar*e ... just logged into that auction site to have a crack at it and says bidding has ended ... bidding was up 'til 5pm today when I looked at it last night ...... not ****ing happy

on the floor in minutes ... a dozen 4.8m lengths of CLS cradled in a couple of slings off the lifter and job done
good job we had some more space to spin him round ... especially as I was expecting a 7.5 tonner ...... and he was away

You sign up, login to ebay via their website, and their system will automatically put the bid in at the interval that you specify and then notify you of success/failure/pending outbid. They charge a small percentage of your wins. It's pretty simple. I tend to just do BIN's/BO's now, so rarely use traditional auctions.

.... together with a job offer again ... would i like to be their maintenance engineer in his bro.'s plant ..... doesn't really compete with retirement ... but happy to help out
then a bit of a brain stormer for a palletised stand for a tank..
all in 316 stainless .... easiest way is form it all up out of plate .. guillo, plasma and brake press / folder ... job sorted .. finding sections in 316 is time consuming and bloody expensive

That is the age old problem! I enjoy a side gig doing programming for my ex employer, but it eats into my holiday days from the current job. Luckily covid this year has put paid to any long holiday this year (we are off for a week in abercastle in September mind), and WFH has increased face time with H.
For you I guess you should probably say yes. Be an on the books employee but get em to pay you hourly, and on a schedule that you set. You hold all the cards. I'm avoiding paperwork hassle by just getting my old employer to buy me toys. It's simple enough for them to write off some stuff as internal/R&D and avoids me needing to do self assessment as there is no record of invoices or payments.

Busy day Saturday ... with a rude awakening, 'bout half five, by me co-pilot howling at the top of his considerably loud yowl, for such a little puss!!
he was fine, when I went in search of the row .... sun was up, so was Sparts ... and WTF was his breakfast
so a while later, after much caffeine had been consumed ... I'd had a little over four hours kip ... and was too awake to return to my pit ... I got started on this 3D jigsaw .....
have to say, despite my initial reservations, it went together very well .... and it was all there
I'd set out its eventual location earlier with a few paint dots to spot it on and with a little help from Pam and our secret shopper who'd arrived with 'the monkey' ... who'd been lending a hand passing bits ... not necessarily the right bits ... but bits all the same .... we re-located the frame to where it was meant to be used/parked ...
and before I could even get the sand bags in situ, which we'd filled Friday, they were in there .... filling it up !!
hopefully 400kgs of sand bags is going to keep it put ...... beats the hell out of a pop up gazebo, for social distanced visitations ...... reckon I could thread a bench in the door, on the forks, too
was a very pleasant morning and even mid covering it, it was some bit warm in there in minutes ... and both doors had to get furled up PDQ !!!
Have to say for the bucks it is a very passable shelter and will almost certainly get a second life ... growing tom.s and various plants ... elsewhere .... if and when all this crap subsides
so you see why there's been a major re-location and rationalisation of all me crud of late ........ plus a lot of it needed a sort anyway.
Had a visit from Alex, after lunch, who I've not seen in some time ..... he is very good and thorough at the whole distancing and hygiene routine, fair play and was nice to see a new/different face for an hour ... I acquired his fuel cell off him a while ago and he'd asked to 'borrow it back' for a week or so ... he was very lucky I hadn't filled it this week ... but hadn't got around to cleaning out a drum, to add to the collection to make a delivery a worthwhile proposition for me fuel guys ... so now i'm 250 ltrs down again on capacity
Grass got massacred everywhere after that ... unbelievable quantities ... can't be more than a week since it got done, but has been growing as you watch it ..... so that put paid to a couple of hours ... The Dane decided to partially eat it's new belt for some reason .....
but it hung in there long enough to get finished .... it can stay put 'til it spits it out completely .. get me money's worth out of it .. 'nother spare hung up for when it does
then emptied several weeks of rubbish incineration from me burning drum including several drum-fulls of garden rubbish ...

and's very comfy too ...... gave it a test drive for half an hour after all the 'hard work'
bit of a potchy day today ..... odds an' sods that needed doing (like clearing a lot of grass !!) .. got the bosses cleaned out in me mast .. pins took a bit of extracting a couple of days ago ...
all cleaned, greased and refitted ...
mast is next for a titivate .... but's gonna have to wait a couple of days ... 'sposed to lash it down tomorrow and the next couple of days - AGAIN!!

out of this, ....
.... this evening, after tea .... left it draining to the bung end for tonight and should be able to decant the last pint or two out the 2" bung, once it's all drained down to it .. leaving a nice, clean, new, fuel drum ....... gonna have to have some this week ... 'Drem'as down to about a third of a tank !!

That polytunnel is going to be perfect for keeping you dry at your bench!!! Finally!!! Even if you have to come up with a solution to lifting it on/off the work area (as opposed to fitting stuff in through the door). Good work sir!

Lol, we managed to drag 6 dumpy bags of green waste up to the tip on sat. It's growing faster than we can get rid ATM! Managed to get into Bristol after that to do a load up of pop for H from Makro, then went and did a test drive of a Kia Picanto for H. She liked it, which is good, just gotta figure out what the lowest price I can screw out of em is.
Didn't get much done today, save the big shop. Should have done stuff but was too knackered from the week and Saturday! Sigh.

interesting one ... last re-stock on mower fuel, one can looked a tad 'odd' .... left it settle and decanted it slowly a jug at a time, 'til i got down to last pint or so and put it in a glass jar ... and this settled out ..
tank must've been getting low down the local garage ... extracted it from the bottom of the jar with a syringe and extension pipe, this evening. WATER!! ....... 200cc/ml 
good job I spotted it ... was lucky it was a can I was using to mix up me gallon of 2T for the strimmer/blower ... have checked all t'others and all seem clean ... and was deffo not in the can already ... cans're used regularly and are spotless

yeh I'd considered that as an alternate use too
... same seller does these 'garages' / car covers ... 6m x 3m x 2.5m ... might be a better solution .. polytunnel is only 2m high ...... but does have plenty of space and head room ... unless you'm 7ft tall 
.... I am very impressed with it for 190 quid; solves all the issues of anyone here on a wet day .... and keeping Josh and the kids out o' the house ... even if it's lashing down ...I'm bloody sure their kids gave me whatever I had back in January ... they were both unwell when they arrived Crimbo time ... and so was I for the first two weeks of the year

bitterly regret selling my old classics .. could've kept them alive for a very long time and on propane weren't too bad to run

We are looking at a Kia Picanto (1.25 / 83bhp, GT-Line) currently. 7 years warranty included, probably going to PCP it with a 2k scrappage deal on her 07 plate Mini. With a 3 year service plan it comes out at about £250 a month with about £5k to pay at the end of 3 years if we go via the Kia financing. I am looking at other options there though as 4 years may work out better for us (slightly lower monthly payments and a lower balloon payment also, though a higher APR).
H is very impulsive tho, and wanted me to sign on the spot, and the sales weasel came straight in off the bat with £400 on for chip & ding insurance £300 for tyre & wheel insurance! Put me off a little. Asked him to take them off, add the £94 of extras (rubber mats & boot liner) plus the 3yr service plan and gap insurance and they came back with an even higher cost, but didn't break it down.
So just as well we left to think about it. I reckon my extras are £500, and his gap insurance is £300 or so, which seems a tad high based on the quote I did while he was on the test drive with H. Should be around half that.
It would be much cheaper if I bought a 1 year old Kia and transferred warranty, but I'm using this as an incentive for H to give up the smokes, so in the long run it will be worth it to us, and not just financially.
I've driven a Kia stinger before via work (hire car) and it was very nice, and with the warranty offered it seems a no brainer. The Picanto is a nice size & feel - it's no mini cooper S (I am tempted to go to try the 1.0 T-GDi version, as that is 100bhp) - but should suffice for H to go see her Mum and is way more economical for her than the Disco.
If you wanted to replace the golf, go and look at the Ceed or Rio. Scrappage deal is 2k if the vehicle is over 7 years old but only on the Picanto & Rio for some reason.
Footer block 1
