Your roller bearings will be your swashplate bearings, if caught in time the pump should be ok... you won't know till its stripped down.
Well done - they are a great tool if you have the work. It will soon pay for the repairsJust to button this one up. Pump came out several weeks ago. Tank off, clean out, new filter etc.
I sent the pump away for an overhaul.View attachment 14054
They confirmed the suspicions that the bearings had collapsed in the swash plate, you nailed it @CPS
Anyhow, it returned the other day, after parting with a large sum of hard earned money, bitter pill to swallow but it’s no bloody good to anyone busted, chalk it down to experience and it’s just one of those things.
And I got her up and running again this morningView attachment 14052View attachment 14053
Any smoke?Cannot believe we've been messing about with this roller problem for 8 year
Anyhoo still the same, but worse than ever, haven't had her running in a year but need to do something with it. Starts runs, but down on power and a bit of a job to keep itt going. I've priced a replacement motor at £4.2k which is more than the machine is worth. I'm thinking of getting into the guts of the engine and possibly doing a bit of work to get it running enough to to a bit of work or move it on. It's that or scrap it and scrap is worth SFA ATM. Anyone done work on the oil cooled deutz engines before, are the parts easy enough to source? I see spares do quite a bit of engine spares for this.
Nothing but thick black smoke . Used to be on start up so was thinking it was valve stem seals but now just smoke all the time and struggling to get to full running speed.Any smoke?
pump or injectors .... maybe cold start stuck in ?? over fueling by the sounds of itNothing but thick black smoke . Used to be on start up so was thinking it was valve stem seals but now just smoke all the time and struggling to get to full running speed.
Best thing to do @Quattromike is just give it to me to dispose of. Obviously I won’t charge you![]()
if you do get to this stage .....I've been after a scrapper for ages...... It's that or scrap it and scrap is worth SFA ATM.
I had a Deutz Engine once that had serous smoke/running rough problems. It had the individual fuel pump units. One of the pegs that sits into the fuel rack was broke on and the pump was stuck on full.... causing serious smoke that wouldn't clear.Cannot believe we've been messing about with this roller problem for 8 year

Would that be in here?I had a Deutz Engine once that had serous smoke/running rough problems. It had the individual fuel pump units. One of the pegs that sits into the fuel rack was broke on and the pump was stuck on full.... causing serious smoke that wouldn't clear.
Just something else to check![]()
Yep, in there, get her running and crack of the injector pipe one at a time and see if it makes any differenceWould that be in here? View attachment 16124
The little pin next to the injector pipe is that the excess fuel button? The one on the left was stuck in for some reason.Yep, in there, get her running and crack of the injector pipe one at a time and see if it makes any difference
