Have a chat with JCB, Some of there plant policies will cover a certain period of hired in plant anyway or at least they used to.

JCB do hired in plant to add to your policy. I think mine covers up to 50k of value. You can set the limit where you want depending on the type or amount of kit you hire.

Jcb also do a hired in plant on a individual basis.. I very rarely hire in and use the online short term policy’s to save the £500 odd outlay for a annual policy. Is Roughly £75 but lasts for a month.

Should be able to add it your JCB policy shouldn't cost too much, premium is based on roughly how much you will spend on plant hire for the year

as I said above max per claim is £50k so no good for big plant £50k don't go far, but ok for what I need and lass than £300.00 for the year

So I’ve been talking with jewsons and they have a insurance waiver, just pay the excess if it’s stolen, makes hiring small stuff on occasion much easier/cheaper!
£120/week for 80roller insured - just pay £500 excess if it’s nicked(which is less than a annual hired in plant policy anyway!)

Same here, for a week small plant like dumpers, 3 ton digger etc is usually £0, most I’ve paid was £44 for £180k of plant (JCB 150x and 220x) for 2 weeks. Hired a roller for 2 weeks at Christmas and it was £5
