You couldn’t hide vaccinating a population the size of China’s, so how do you propose they are disproportionately affected? I totally agree that the Chinese can’t be trusted to tell the truth. I think there’s much more the general public don’t know, than what we are actually told.

In 2017-18 winter we had 50k excess deaths. Don't remember the economy being trashed for that and all our liberties taken away

I think the media has such a desire for sensation it has whipped people to a frenzy demanding "something must be done". Along with an assumption we can live for ever, or certainly at least late 80's and one extra death is blood on the governments hands.
Now we have saved the NHS and have a lot of spare capacity in the form of temporary hospitals surely most people who can't work from home should get back to work. A lot of shops and recreation could easily open and should never have been shut. It doesn't make any sense that my local onestop is open and because of the door/till layout it is in practice impossible to always keep 2m distance, but garden centres covering vaste areas are shut or closing amenity tips so people just fly tip the rubbish instead. I don't play golf, but I can't see how it would be difficult to keep 2m distance. The whole thing seems a huge over reaction to manufactured fear.

As you say golf has to be one of the easiest things to social distance but if we could all go and play golf we would have to get in our cars fill up with fule, have accidents so have to call the police we want to get new clubs etc where would it stop.

Now we are on the cusp of the easing of the lockdown it is going to be difficult for the politicians it is all going to be the blame game when thing start to open up.

We do need to get back to work but lets hope that all that can work from home are allowed to carry on doing that it has to be good for every body.

This is an interesting read. It puts into perspective the real risks of being a "front line" NHS worker compared to the rest of us. It seems the figures show the highest risk have the least mortality, possibly because they take the PPE seroiusly. There are a lot NHS not wearing masks correctly or travelling home or shopping in their uniforms which can't help.
