Iveco 7.5t Hook loader and seem to average about 16 - I thought that was pretty bad but maybe not.

That new sprinter of mine only seems to be doing 350 miles to a tank, only sitting at 3T gross and more rest driving with cruise control on all the time. Not happy with it tbh!

Old 54 reg scudo always used to get around 550miles when I used to neck it. Would estimate 70l tank? Was always around a ton to neck it.

Cruise is often less economical as it is always trying to maintain a set speed, eg accelerating up hill, where as a decent driver may accept the slower speed.

It’s using minimal fuel on the level though, compared to what the throttle peddle would use.

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
pretty sure a decent driver could better a cruise, on fuel efficiency though Mark .... they do tend to be very lead footed on the slightest of inclines

After doing a bit of investing the sprinter only has a 65L tank 😕
My tranny also seems to have a small tank 🤔 it does about 28 mpg but it get tanked, always full of crap and short journeys up and down the local hills 😁

I think the Add Blue tank often takes up some fuel tank space on these newer vehicles. My AdBlue Navara has a smaller tank than the non AdBlue ones due to this. And it sucks, Only getting 400ish miles to a tank. Old Nav used to go over 500 every time.

I think they also reduced the tank capacity to reduce the kerb weight of the navara, as it was a few kegs over when the first AdBlue models were introduced.
It’s a shame, because I think for what they are, they are fairly economical, but that tank capacity does make you think otherwise.
