keeping you out of mischief at least Dave (y) ....... do your neighbours know you'll be relieving them of their topsoil, some time soon :ROFLMAO:
We sneaked round the neighbours and filled those long pockets with good topsoil 😅
They didn’t notice ‘cos they were sitting around in their pants watching Netflix 🤪

Morning all - what a difference that is affecting us all
For the past few weeks I haven't been out working with my gear.
Last thing I did, just in time, was to collect my pecker from Nigel at the Pecker Hospital

It's an Arrowhead S20 and actually works well after a complete overhaul by Doctor Pecker
Now just have the work come in to pay for the investment ;)

The past week or so have been helping my immediate family get set up for the 'lockdown'.
We have 2 adult daughters who have 6 children between them. Fortunately they all live nearby.
Then Sharon's 86yr old mother also lives nearby. We are doing her shopping etc 🥰

We have Ryan, our 15yr old grandson living with us until further notice.
He loves my 'boys toys' and is a very handy dumper driver.

Here is Ryan stacking cleaned up T & G roof boards for a summer house.
Under the blue tarp is all the other components 😎

So, yesterday, I opened up a vegetable plot with the old mini.
Problem is that it's on the graded spoil, mainly clay, from the old swimming pool in the poly tunnel😅

First stripped off the old turf

Decent size plot - dry in the middle where my mates big caravan was stored over the winter 😏

Digging out the clay overburden.
There is good topsoil underneath covered over when we did the pool dugout nearly 30yrs ago🤨

Later today bringing in more good topsoil and compost..........
Well done Dave, the old S20 will do you a turn ba, might need a bit of wind now & again though.....Stay safe!

Ryan is a great operator. He really makes that engine bark 😅

Look at that concentration and not a smart phone in sight 🤪

Mixing it up

Over the next few days we’ll sort it and get planting.
but this weekend our daughter moves house again. Now off playing with vans and jumping stuff 🤪

hell of a time to be moving house Dave .......
there'll be a few house transactions ground to a halt ... the Land reg. is shut down ATM ... Josh works for 'em and they've all been told to stay at home!!

I thought we were in lock down and only allowed out for specified essential things.
I'd guess that those sorts of things, planned in, so far in advance, are pretty special exceptions Gra ... hell of a knock on down the chain otherwise

Yep - house moving is one of the essential activities that can take place unless it can be avoided
This has been planned for months and if it didn't go ahead, my daughter and her family would be screwed
We are, however, taking the precautions to make sure that we don't contract or spread the Cover-19 virus.....
......writing this in the lunch break
Too old for this removal crap

Our daughter is on her own with the children after her husband fcuked off 🤬

Don't complain - suggest what's better
Glad you can get her moved okay.
I'm with you on the too old for removal crap - don't think my back would stand another move.

We have broken the back of it today and they are sleeping tonight in the new house.
Finishing up tomorrow morning when my Furloughed son-in-law is helping ;)

So went out to play yesterday with the mini and skip loader
This was 2 weeks into the 'lockdown' to stop me going stir crazy.
I was unable to 'work from home' on this job and once on site 'maintained social distance'. ;)
The site was where I did foundations for extension last year and drains a few weeks ago.
The fella wanted it graded off ready for grass seed and decking etc.
IMG_1334.jpeg
Grading off some nice top soil taken from....
IMG_1328.jpeg
....an area of the old veggie plot.....
IMG_1330.jpeg
....and now covered in Type 1
Still don't know why I had to stand on my head doing this!
This was a typical "Can you just" - this area was dug out for a children play area.
The fella is gonna use his wacker and then cover it in bark from a local supplier still operating :giggle:

IMG_1335.jpeg
So to finish up with another "Can you just" dig out ready for new driveway :p working on my side up a tight back passage:eek:
Hardly any room to swing 180 to load me dumper
Still had a full days work and now ready to return soon for the big dig of his front driveway......;)

Yesterday at home sorting out the small yard behind my barn, assisted by my 16yr old grandson who is living with us UFN.....
IMG_1346.jpeg
.....we cut the hedge whilst standing on that pallet :p
Then moved around my baggies of stuff.
Guess we are all doing a bit of sorting and tidying up ready for work to resume

So the last few weeks have seen us doing all sorts of stuff since the last real work on 7th April.
The main thing is making sure that we get our 'daily exercise' ;)
We are truly blessed to live in an 'area of outstanding natural beauty' and an SSSI behind us.
In this part of Essex, between Wrabness and Ramsey we back onto The Essex Way and The Stour Esturary.
We don't need to drive somewhere nice to get a good walk in. Here's a few photos:

Stour Estuary on The Essex Way🥰

Wrabness Foreshore still on the Stour Estuary

Rape seed flowering, but do you know the name of the famous house?
IMG_1351.jpeg
Stour Woods RSPB Reserve where they coppice the Chestnut trees
Got told off here by SWMBO 😂

So life's good we are 'Staying at Home' and keeping safe and well.
Got a list of work to do once sites open up again......

Some of you will know that our 16yr old grandson Ryan has been staying with UFN since the lockdown.
It is likely that he will go straight to 6th form from here when schools reopen in September.
While here we have been getting him involved with stuff ☺
IMG_1261.jpeg
For the past year or so he has proved to be a tidy dumper driver. The first thing he does is put the seat belt on before he turns the key. No just gotta get the green beacon fitted up @JD450A 🤪
IMG_1294.jpeg
Teaching him various skills:geek:
IMG_1314.jpeg
Target practice using the air pistol but he prefers the rifle 😆
IMG_1403.jpeg
Hedge cutting a big hedge. I am up on a pallet and he's loading 'his' dumper ☺
IMG_1451.jpeg
Then we stacked up the logs ready for next year.
Put 3 x @V8Druid baggies in there with more to go 🤣
IMG_1456.jpeg
Introduced him to the sledge hammer and pile of hardcore.
He loved the workout and wants to do more when we 'put it down' soon 😅......
