do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
Presumably if they are scrapping it all then there won't be a opportunity to purchase it.

Obviously people will stock up before the deadline. It sounds like a good excuse to put rates up anyway. And for you and me Rory, it wont be a problem, we will just have to do a little bit of "farming" to justify having red delivered. Its amazing how much fuel my Massey 240 gets through 🤪 It will be impossible to police, most will comply as they wont have a choice and the government make more money as white diesel has a fuel levy included in it before VAT is added.
There may even be a business opportunity here selling red on the black market. Whats not to like😁

I'm considering a new career as a Pirate, I'm not going to lie. the Perks are there and it's got more of a future than plant hire.

If farmers do get to keep red for ag use only and the revenue actively police it then it'll be a right bugger for those of us that do some farm work where the customer supplies fuel. Dug a cable trench today down the side of a farm drive that has one power cable in and eight ducts for fibres , who's to say or judge if this was an agricultural operation?

If they get more duty on Red, then what about the Generators that run on Red! They don't go anywhere near the roads.

I was thinking part agricultural only as two of the ducts are going to the farm offices and the others are non-agricultural, though as they go in empty how should I be expected to guess what they are for ? .
It'll be proper awkward for those that run tractor mounted hedge cutters o_O

I think quite a few running tractor mounted hedge cutters are meant to be on white already and should have been for quite some time
Verge mowing is definitely supposed to be white but don't know how many contractors admit the difference

I was on a construction site for last couple of years and they were using 25,000 l daily!!! poor guys filling the diggers and dumpers were driven mad by operators wanting to fill a couple of gallons for their own "use" gonna be a lot worse if its legal to put into their cars etc

Heathrow terminal 5 where loosing a staggering amount when in full swing I think it was in the thousands per day

They ended up gluing and RFID chip into the neck of every machine on sight this corresponded to a reader on the gun
The pump wouldn't turn on on the Bowser's until the computer system had all corresponded
It sent real time tracking back to the office so they could track each litre of fuel
Obviously the fuel can be siphoned but it could atleast be tracked better

The guidance notes from HMRC "Fuels for use in vehicles (Excise Notice 75) would seem to disagree with your view.
I'm currently struggling with the implications of agricultural use only of red

I mean verge mowing for the council
I think this is where there is quite some complications
Alot of jobs can be carried out with red diesel but can't use red diesel to get to site on red depending who the client is

Hmrc stopped a ride on mower cutting the verge in the local town and it was on red
They made them load the mower on the van to move between each patch of grass in a housing estate followed them round for an afternoon just to prove the point

The problem with bulk storage nowadays and the bio content of fuels mean it’ll probably get diesel bug and be a pain to keep clean :(
