do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
The biggest MEWP in the world is currently in Scotland just now, they are using it to put the Chinese hat on the rocket up in the space port. It was shipped in from China on hire. I dare to think what the weekly hire cost is for that.
and I bet a man basket hung off a decent sized crane'd be a much more preferable experience ...
a good op and two ways'd be waaaaay smoother than any MEWP

H&S regs killed off the air bridge's development, by Demag sadly ... would've been an excellent alternative to big MEWPs .... supremely solid and stable, in comparison fixed to the cat head of a mobile crane with capacities far in excess of any MEWP or whatever load was in it ... always intended to fab one to fit my cranes, but never got round to it and then they got clobbered

never seen one of these, but looks a cool ride :giggle::giggle:(y)

essentially a similar set up to a fixed man basket attached to a tele handler (like Mog had for is manitou) - on board power pack to provide supply for hydraulic control of levelling and 170 deg rotation, pinned to the cat head of a mobile crane.
H&S knackered their dev. by insisting on control of the machine from the basket .... now't wrong with a good op in the seat and 2 ways ... no different to a suspended man basket, but gave you stability and fine control of orientation.
AND big capacity
would rather be in one o' they than swinging about in a MEWP basket, where a packet of fags and a Zippo could put you overweight.
Gave superlative height/reach on a base platform with the capacity to remain completely stable within its given load rating for lifting at a given rad./height all governed by a calibrated and cert.ed SLI
as said I know where I'd rather be stood maybe 100+ft in the air -- I'd also choose a free hanging man basket than a MEWP any day of the year - yer Zippo'd not put it over weight

My understanding is the Magellan Rig Winch / Mousehole Accident (October 9, 2000) was the death of two person operation.
