FAI 898 Synther backhoe loader
Hi there. A fellow local of mine is looking to buy a Fai 898 backhoe for use in the countryside as a utility machine. The backhoe attachment itself doesn't work, so he plans to remove it, mount a counterweight at the rear, and use the tractor—along with the front loader—as a forklift (using forks) for loading, unloading, and moving materials; basically, using it as a mechanical workhorse. What do you think? Obviously, since it has a rigid tractor-style chassis, it’s a bit clumsy to maneuver in tight spaces. Is this a good deal or a lemon to be avoided? Thanks.
