Sadly i think your new knocker would more likely become lost in the nettles! So if I buy a post knocker then place it in Rorys yard, he will come and do my fencing for me...I've got that right haven't I 🫣![]()

These are also very good knockers for diggers. I'd say the design is better than a Protech for excavator use. I've adapted by Protech to work like this. But they are slightly heavier. On a 5 ton plus machine id go vector over Protech. But probably a bit heavy for smaller machines without compromising on the hammer weight.
If you're up north of the wall you don't go past Jock Bryce when it comes to post chappers.
the protect evo tracked machines have done really well see a lot more than the Bryce or the king of them all the solo track ones
Ex vat? Doesn't sound too far offPrice is £2770 for a p18 with a 180kg weight with a bracket to suit the machine.
Yeah that's ex vat price. Supposedly that's with a 15% discountEx vat? Doesn't sound too far off![]()
On one hand that sounds reasonable but Jesus it's a lot of money for something that really is quite simple. I went to bid on a used p18 at a local auction and bidding started at my max bid, and finished at something like £2200+vat. That was a good few years ago now, ended up making my own and it cost less than a grand in parts and steel but took plenty of evenings in the workshop to build.Price is £2770 for a p18 with a 180kg weight with a bracket to suit the machine.
Yes, Alright but very heavy and lopsided.anyone used the bigger knocker with hand controls and pivot built in
Yes. Tried one on a customers machine but didn't get on at all. It's like the worst of both worlds. You have minimal control of alignment using the levers yet still have to rely on someone in the cab. It takes away from what makes digger mounted ones goodanyone used the bigger knocker with hand controls and pivot built in
That’s exactly what I’ve bought, and I can see where @Storrsy and @JD450A are coming from with it being less convenient to use on your own.anyone used the bigger knocker with hand controls and pivot built in
Fair play on the TB230! The p220 is some lump, is that the 250kg hammer or 300kg? To be fair you wouldnt want to chance it without a leg- at least you can arrest yourself quickly with a leg if it all starts going south. That’s exactly what I’ve bought, and I can see where @Storrsy and @JD450A are coming from with it being less convenient to use on your own.
However, I’ve been doing a few post replacements at a property where I keep some sheep and have chanced it on the 3 tonner. It is way too heavy for this digger, but with the leg down it actually handles it fine! Getting out and operating it from the side actually works really well - I’m happy with it.
It would/will also be very easy to simply run the hoses directly to the machine and operate from the joysticks - I might do this when using it on the 6 tonner it was purchased for.
