When we traded in our Man lorry for the Volvo FH540, 5 years ago Volvo truck and bus took it as a trade in couple months later the office had a phone call from Sierra Leone, lorry went for export and guy who bought it was wanting warranty off me cause the engine blew upVolvo had left all our decals on the side of it complete with phone number.

And did you go out there to fit it also, or just send out a replacement? When we traded in our Man lorry for the Volvo FH540, 5 years ago Volvo truck and bus took it as a trade in couple months later the office had a phone call from Sierra Leone, lorry went for export and guy who bought it was wanting warranty off me cause the engine blew upVolvo had left all our decals on the side of it complete with phone number.
Always take any signwriting off anything of mine before it’s sold.Volvo had left all our decals on the side of it complete with phone number.
Works both ways, we put stuff into auctions and leaving our name on it helps the price, as people knows it came from a good home a reputable company.Always take any signwriting off anything of mine before it’s sold.

I used to think the same but I paid £35 for what's on my van now and it took a Saturday morning to put onOld boss sold a van with signwriting. They were in local merchants getting gear on account. Think merchants had to swallow the cost but headache non the less. Lesson learned for him. I can't afford signwriting so doesn't effect me
that was very cheapI'd always remove sign writing as it'll only cause greif leaving it on and it doesn't take long to strip it with the big jetwash.

Similar experience with my old gaffer. It's fraud but feel a bit for the merchants. The vans should be de signed as it's unfair to expect merchants to verify everyone.Vans, trucks and plant are massive advertising boards for your business, it really makes you stand out as a serious player.
however we also sold a van with the sign writing still on it and the guy bought it went to a branch of a supply company we had an account with and bought £600 odd worth of stuff and put it on our account. We didn’t pay it and had a bit of a barney with the supply company but we gave them the name and address of the new owner of the van an they had him on cctv, police involved and got him in the end but did cause a bit of hassle.
Because you can fix them with a bag of spanners no need for diagnostic computers. Ideal for the environment they are working in.
Bloody amazing what these c***s get up to - surely its as hard as a proper job slape arsing about like thatSpeaking to someone the other day who had his lorry stolen and then used to go round builders merchants picking up materials on his account
He said he had put a passcode on all his accounts to stop it happening again and I think put a note on them saying the account couldn't be used for power tools and the like just materials
