And Rory need to go back and but the Cat 308, its a really impressive machine.

4 electric machines this weekend, all impressive and smooth and quiet.. its strange getting into a 25 tonner and flicking up the Deadman and it just goes😁 so much so I thought the Volvo EW150 duck wasn't on and I was pressing all sorts of buttons 😅

Tilty and skidsteer making lift super easy. Softest sand you can imagine, the t450 is ideal to spread it about. IMG_1406.jpegIMG_1407.jpegIMG_1408.jpeg

Just for interest, Doob, this is how I modified several of our CTL buckets. You can still see the edge but it stops the big lumps coming over the top and wedging in the hitch or damaging hoses etc. behind the bucket. The Cat hitches are vulnerable to debris getting in the mechanism, hopefully they’ve cured this problem on the newest gen - I’ll let you know when I get hold of one.

Got round to putting those rubbers on the manhole that went in the other month. Finished early on a job so we nipped over to do this. Risers have a slot then just lube up the top of the other. What's the craic with polypipe lids do you need an extra piece between the riser and the lid as its loose even if I wrap one of those Johnny's round it. (Not the first time ive said that!)

That cover looks like it goes with a pipe riser. The lids that usually come with those risers just sit on the rim with a concrete haunch. I've only seen that style lid with a pipe riser

Looks very similar to the Osma ones but they are a fairly snug fit. They have screws in the frame to fix to the riser. Plus use a concrete bed/surround to raise the weight rating.

The Osma risers have integral rubbers, much better design

There’s a reason I refuse polypipe and Brett underground gear now… it’s hopeless! Wavin all the way!

Polypipe is not the worst. Rouden piptek had a budget range at one point but didn't tell anyone. It looked a really good quote thinking you would get the run of the mill polypipe stuff. The this absolute junk would turn up. They upset a lot of people. It was awful in good weather but when the temperature dropped it was unusable. After we broke the third chamber base trying to fit rockers, took it all back. They sent it out repeatedly to us on different sites before they got the message.
They lost a lot of business over it, is alone was a couple hundred grand.

For anyone interested, you can now get adoptable spec plastic pipe and fittings

It's supposed to be able to withstand higher jetting pressures and I guess ground pressures

Had to order it in but somehow was about the same price as Osma

But I can just pick up another brand lid if I cant get hold of the right piece? Or just bed this one on compo when the stabbing eventually gets done

Just bed that one on concrete. If it's being slabbed won't it go to a recessed cover anyway?
I'm thinking concrete slabs in this corner not particularly fussed about seeing a manhole lid. World's gone mad these days trying to have everything concealed. I can understand in £££ patio tbf.
